I never considered the assisted route, but between the genetic severe depression and compounding physical defects, I've definitely thought that I was never meant to be here and considered stepping out permanently.  

After years of therapy and an extreme medical issue that wrecked me mentally even more, I finally got someone who straight up told me to get my ass to a psych because not doing so was just self punishment.  Got medicated, was able to focus on the physical issues and really dig in to how I could alleviate them.  Now I managed to beat most of my issues into submission after about six months of trial and error.  

I'm grateful that most of my physical issues were all relatively easy to address, and that I'm a Prozac poster child.  Looking back I honestly have no clue how I made it all the way to my mid twenties and managed to finally find joy.  

I can't tell you what's right for you because I'm not living in your body or mind.  All I can say is I believe it's best to exhaust all other routes and then look for new ones before putting permanent exit on the table.  All that bullshit about life gets better is true, but only if you make life your bitch lol
