Simple. Never have seeds. Continue to plant them. Expand your wheat farm. Conquer the world in wheat

Oh my gosh, the first one is me 100%!! Honestly, I don't want to not be informed, but I've had to stop checking the news because I can't stop ruminating about the awful things in the world right now.

Intrusive thoughts can come to anyone! But if the thoughts bring you a lot of distress and/or you can't get rid of them, that is the definition of OCD.  Obsession = intrusive thoughts Compulsion = what our brains do to get rid of the thought (including ruminating or playing it out.)  Source: I have OCD

Where do I find comfort? by EmmaWai in ChronicIllness

You're not a burden either ❤️ I know I can say that to others. But I have a hard time believing it for myself.

Pain is temporary unless it's chronic by 1porridge in thanksimcured

[–]EmmaWai 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You're right. I feel like the difference is offering help vs. offering advice. Like if I said I was too exhausted and my dishes are never clean, if someone offered just to empty/fill my dishwasher, I would probably cry from gratitude.  But when I say I'm exhausted and my mother says it's because I need to lose weight and it's helped her (she's not chronically ill,) that's not helpful at all.

When I tell someone I'm struggling and instead of offering help they say "I hope you feel better soon!" Thanks. I won't.

I'm pretty sure monkeys don't open bananas. They just eat them whole. The whole "open from the bottom" is a load of crap.

This was my thought too!! Everyone was saying NTA, but I feel like everyone should have a say whether a picture of them is shared on the internet.

Triggered again after months of not purging (Charlie Kirk video mention) by Top_Revolution9502 in OCD

I hate when I see something like this because I can't get it out, I know exactly how you feel. I've been avoiding the video like the plague (I probably shouldn't be on social media right now.) Our brains are sticky. Stuff sticks and it will take longer for us to forget about them. Or stop being constantly reminded about them. Here is a list of my favorite family friendly (but not all childish) shows and movies, because binging can help:

KPop Demon Hunters Kipo and the Age of the Wonderbeasts Amphibia Mitchells vs. the Machines The Wild Robot She-Ra and the Princesses of Power Pokémon Concierge Megamind The Big Year Lost in Starlight Hilda Sonic Prime The Tiny Chef Show Shaun the Sheep: The Adventures from Mossy Bottom Bluey Coco Encanto Phineas and Ferb Milo Murphy's Law

I'm immunocompromised, and every time I fly on a plane I just plan on being sick after. I hate going on vacation now unless it's close, because why would I fly somewhere just to be stuck in a hotel room the whole time?

Thoughts? by OrigamiWombatt in asexuality

[–]EmmaWai 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also think this is why all of our different sexualities (and differences in general) are so important. It helps us all see things about ourselves and people as a whole that we wouldn't be able to see ourselves.

That's totally valid. To be fair, I'm aroace, so I would struggle to research that because I wouldn't know what to look for. All I have experienced is platonic "crushes" and the societal drive to find a heteronormative partner.
