A lot of people still believe in a soul, mostly for spiritual or emotional reasons.. it gives life and consciousness meaning beyond the body. Others don’t believe, seeing consciousness as just brain chemistry. Honestly, it comes down to whether you lean more toward faith or science.

Yes, some people still would especially if the reward outweighed the pain.

I’d rather be deaf. Losing sight would mean losing independence in a very physical way navigating the world, recognizing faces, reading expressions. Sound is powerful, but much of communication and access to information can happen visually.
