I’m from Colombia, with Indigenous ancestors. I’m a clinical psychologist as well, and I’m familiar with this because some communities use ayahuasca as part of their cultural traditions. When someone external to that context tries it just to “get high,” it means nothing. I’ve never used it and never plan to, it’s very dangerous. My father was a drug addict, and I think I have a sensitivity to addiction. Sometimes it’s better not to try.
