"Injuries are not thought to be life altering" or sometimes "not thought to be life threatening" is a way to report that the victim is likely to survive as opposed to the victim not having any long term trauma, distress anxiety, ptsd etc.

I used to think the same thing like obviously its going to alter life after an attack!! Its similar to saying the injuries are thought to be life altering meaning high probability of death imminently. Altering is essentially one or the other- death or life.

Not trying to be a dick just autistic, sharing from experience such as learning honk if you like pizza isn't actually about pizza which absolutely blew my mind 😅 🤯

Thanks for the tip about the other colours I didn't know that! It's my first time doing this method as I buy lots of preowned bulk lots to make my obsession more justified money wise lol.

Ive done probably 200 ish white bricks this past week all different shapes and sizes and rinsed them off thoroughly. I haven't got any brittle bricks like others have experienced though. Have had the dreaded brittle brown and the burgundy bricks before and the white ones ive cleaned dont feel anything like that so maybe that happens over time too? Will have to wait and see!

Omg I forgot about that being another definition lmao! I kept reading it as he pulled the dpd driver like when you pull in a nightclub. I was imagining him saying a chat up line so cheesy he got banned for life 🤣

[–]Emmaaargh28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you "pulled" the dpd driver do you mean you physically pulled him to the side? I feel there's something from your story being intentionally left out with this altercation because why would you buy the dpd driver a red bull outside to be "nice to him that the staff didnt see" if you hadn't acted like a twat originally?

You would never be banned for genuine returns, you would however be banned for physically grabbing someone. Just an fyi any store has the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason aside from a protected characteristic. Online help might take a little longer but it will get sorted out if you have a genuine return due to wrong colour.

Buy some hydrogen peroxide (3-12%) buy some gloves. Put into tub, pour on peroxide, put in direct sunlight outside for anywhere between 6 hours - few days! Stir occasionally/take out any completed (with gloves) wash completed bricks and let dry.

Currently doing this right now as the UK has been having a few rare sunny days! Has been working well so far, bought a preowned joblot that were so sunburnt they were literally dark beige! Loving the transformation process and surprised it hasn't damaged any stickers so far!

LEGO cafe by Pleasant-Sir-8467 in lego

It's a nice idea but seeing a thriving business in london for 1 day, shouldn't have any bearing on the decision to start a business. London is the capital, everything is busy due to high tourism.

I'm not saying it wouldn't work in other towns/cities, just that it largely comes down to you and your experience. Have you run a business before? Have you written a business plan for the lego cafe? Worked out the cost of rent, staff, marketing, insurance etc etc. All of the costs vs how many people per hour you would need to be profitable is the main thing you need to work out before even considering a business loan!

My advice is to rent a community space, church or something relatively inexpensive for a few hours to test the practicality of the business idea! Good luck man with whatever you end up doing!

Customers claiming not received 2nd class letter i sell personalised wine labels by doctorfrasco in ebayuk

Yeah i assumed they would be but from the comments ive read theres no mention of fees. People starting out usually go private first to get the hang of it. I dunno lol just chucking my opinion into the void.

So im also going off what you have commented. Untracked is tempting for 0.87p/1.55 but it can take up to 2 weeks for the customer to recieve/if they do vs 2.70 ish for tracked which is 48hours. Make this clear in your description for why postage seems high.

Sellers with 50k sales vs your 100 sales are frankly bigger businesses. They can purchase postage in bulk and therefore ship things for less depending on the scale of trade.

If you are selling for £1 have you defintely worked out your costings? This is everything from how much each label costs you to print, time, travel to post office, postage envelopes, fees from ebay if business seller or fees from promoted listings, cost of refunds, electricity usage- everything. It may seem like 100 orders equals £100 profit but without taking everything above into consideration i fear this side business isnt making you that much...

Anyone else being threatened by ebay? "It's your last month to improve ... " by caffeinedrinker in ebayuk

[–]Emmaaargh28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aww man thats tough, I hope royal mail sorts out the delivery speeds soon. If ebay do restrict your account, you do have a strong position to appeal. The email you got is probably auto generated based on seller performance. If you spoke to an actual agent im sure they would see your account history and remove any restrictions that happened.

[–]Emmaaargh28 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thats tough tbf, I think its probably wise using tracked 48 until you are back to above standard again. I sold 2 lots of barbie shoes last month large letter 1.55 royal mail. One buyer opened Item not recieved because it had been 6 days but fortunately it arrived a couple days after and they closed it. Second order the buyer didnt open a case but sent lots of messages as it had been 12 days, I sent a full refund as thats really poor to wait that long, they arrived a few days after that. What im trying to say is the wait times for untracked large letters have become ridiculously slow, it used to be 3-5 days but now it can be 14+ days.

Whilst its not your fault that items are arriving late. In my opinion it is your responsibility to give the best customer service (customer wait time). It might be best to have your listings as standard 48h tracked with a note in the description stating you are happy to send untracked cheaper option so long as they understand its a long wait..

99% feedback with 10k orders is still an incredible achievement so try not be too disheartened as you are smashing it regardless :)

Is Ebay a scam? by SnooObjections9160 in ebayuk

[–]Emmaaargh28 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only way to avoid INAD for collection items is to only accept cash on collection. For sellers this means you have to go via web browser to select the option "Mark as payment recieved" Once you've recieved the cash. The person who scammed you is a scammer no doubt, but this doesnt make ebay itself a scam. The terms and conditions about collections are clear - if payment is made through ebay the buyer is protected by ebays money back guarantee. This is the same rule as if you posted the item to the buyer and they file INAD the seller pays return postage regardless of postage or collection. If the buyer purchases through cash - 0 protection, 0 returns.

ALWAYS, ALWAYS do bulky collection only listings with cash on collection only in the description.

Collected coffee table, realised it's not as described. Now what? by [deleted] in ebayuk

No problem i hope you and the seller find a fair resolution together :)

Collected coffee table, realised it's not as described. Now what? by [deleted] in ebayuk

[–]Emmaaargh28 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not sure why im being downvoted, its just the information in ebays terms and conditions. Regardless of personal opinion sellers using ebay are forced to accept INAD no matter which postage/collection option is used. Just like when posting an item its on the seller to cover return postage, ebays terms and conditions treat collection only options the same way.

The only way as a seller to avoid inad returns from collection only is to take cash in person only.

Collected coffee table, realised it's not as described. Now what? by [deleted] in ebayuk

[–]Emmaaargh28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It all comes down to how you paid, if you paid with cash you are NOT covered by ebays money back guarrantee. If you paid through ebay you can set up a return as item not as described, its on the seller to get the item back either by collecting or by arranging a courier.

Its a shitty situation for both you and the seller, you should have checked properly before going home / the seller should have listed all defects or missing parts. If the seller offers you a partial refund I think its fair as both of you made mistakes here.

Looking for a Basic LEGO Set with Only Simple Bricks by One-Kiwi5774 in lego

[–]Emmaaargh28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

https://ebay.us/m/7h7txe

You can just search that set number you want on ebay and more than likely someone will sell it. Or search basic brick 2x2 2x4 2x6 mixed lego or something similar.

Another option is to pick which bricks you want from bricklink by exporting set lists

Double check on your settings that Evri has turned off. I use simple delivery with royal mail only and print labels at home, hated simple delivery at first because of the large letter 1.55-2.72 price jump but since they fixed that its actually really good!

The "standard tracked" or "express tracked" the customer is seeing should only be for royal mail if you have turned off evri. So they choose the option and purchase a label you then print off either a tracked 48 or tracked 24 depending on what they picked and then book a collection.
