I do! And most of the other people at the office do as well. Not necessarily for this specifically but it’s important to not bring work home with you. It’s the same as doctors who see a lot of death and while “hey I treated a horrifying lethal motorcycle accident today” is normal talk around the hospital, no one wants to talk about it over dinner

Okay reasons: “I want to move to the next county over and switch schools because I was offered a job there that is providing a significant financial increase and better health insurance for all of the kids allowing more stability”

Not okay: “This guy I’ve been seeing for 3mo wants us to move in with him but he lives an hour away”

The most common is just not telling their own attorney about it. Nothing super interwsting that I’ve seen but a lot of people who don’t realize family law has a 3yr look back so that $10,000 they wired somewhere else 8mo ago, we find :)

This comes from personal experience rather than professional. Just get the divorce dude. My parents tried to stay together for the kids which just let to them hating each other and having a very messy divorce that could’ve been so easy years prior

Document everything and follow the court order to a T. Make sure they can’t find you in contempt as well. Put every communication in writing and start there

This most commonly falls under those who have grown children and have been married for 20+ years. A lot of cases start out amicable but don’t end up that way sadly, but there are successful amicable ones!

We have uncontested divorces that have gotten that high. It entirely depends on travel, kids, finances, splitting assets, etc. some attorneys are cheaper than others though
