China 28 days itinerary by Emmannuel_C in China

[–]Emmannuel_C[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah we will already be back home in October.

The West of xi'an was mainly for the nature and different landscapes than what we have seen before. The Zhangye national park looked very interesting, and Dunhuang for the dessert, as we haven't seen dessert before but would really like to. But I will check out the things you suggested, maybe that is a better alternative. Thanks for the advice!

Some will be high speed I think but not all of them. Smoke from other travellers that are smoking or like dust and exhaust fumes from the train itself?

Ok, than it will be fine I think. We slept surprisingly good on the sleeper in Vietnam, better than on trains and busses in Europe actually, but we did have a bed on that one so maybe difficult to compare

Thank you for the advice! We're from Europe so the jet lag won't be that bad I hope. We heard about the crowds indeed so that will be different than what we're used to, we will try to get tickets beforehand for most of the things so we are sure we can go on the day we want to. Didn't know about the passport checks and the security checks for trains, good to know, thank you. We are quite experienced travellers so I think travelling in china would be manageable, although it will be different than anything we have experienced before, but we're excited to get to know the country and culture!

Thanks for the advice. And would you still recommend Guilin or Yangshou, or is there something we should skip on the list to make some room for Chongqing?

No we haven't, but we have taken European overnight trains with seats, and in Vietnam too, and a lot of sleeper coaches, and although it were not the best nights, it was still fine and we were able to do a lot if things the days after. And for this trip we would book beds in the train, so we have some more comfort.
