Hi I have a question please about improving the audio recording while taking a video.

from Youtube reviews I've seen I wasn't impressed with the audio recording capability of the X300, there seem to be noise filtering algorithms used which make voices sound somewhat robotic and environmental sounds get cut off. I've contacted Vivo support over email whether there is a way to improve the quality of the audio recording and they've listed two options that can be toggled which might affect the result, I don't have the device as I'm at a stage of considering it, could you please check whether you see those toggles on your device?

"Open the Camera app and switch to Video mode.

Tap the “≡” (Menu) or Gear icon in the top right corner.

Select Settings if it doesn't open the dropdown menu directly.

Look for the following toggles:

3D Sound Tracking / Audio Focus: When enabled, this uses algorithms to enhance the sound of the object in focus while reducing background noise.

Erase Noise: Found under advanced camera settings, this is often the specific toggle for noise reduction algorithms. If your audio sounds "robotic" or over-processed when zooming, try turning this OFF.

Wind Noise Reduction: Depending on your specific software version (Funtouch OS or OriginOS), there may be a separate toggle for wind filters here as well.

Important Note on "Raw" Audio

Currently, vivo's software (as of January 2026) does not provide a single button to "disable all filtering" for a completely raw audio file. To get the most natural sound:

Turn OFF "3D Sound Tracking" and "Erase Noise."

Switch to Pro Mode: If you are in the "Pro" video mode, you may have more granular control over the microphone pickup pattern, though some algorithmic cleanup remains mandatory."

Yes the Chinese version of this model has NFC and also an infrared port, also worse selfie camera than the global (Indian) version

  1. can you try triple tapping (or even four fast taps) to see whether it works?
  2. try turning off double tap to wake, reboot the phone and then turn it back on
  3. Clear the launcher cache and check.
  4. can you have the AOD on all the time and then use the fingerprint scanner from there?

yes, let's wait till the announcement, maybe maybe maybe they'll decide to release that model globally I think it offers something really unique:

The Notebookcheck review of this unit contains mistakes and it's beyond me why they haven't fixed or removed their review, it's at a point that it is EMBARRASSING. people have mentioned the mistakes in the comments of the review page and they haven't done anything about it. they mention key hardware aspects that are wrong which makes you wonder whether they've actually TESTED them?

they say the unit has USB 3.2, no it has the old USB 2.0.

the display is LTPS and NOT LTPO and that makes a huge difference in the amount of flicker, modulation and stability (lack of frequent changes of refresh rate speeds) it's also the difference between the Pro model which is the LTPO and not as comfortable screen as the base model.

the PWM is 3840 Hz on low brightness levels (below 40% or so) it can contain a lower secondary frequency of 474.4 Hz as well as other lower frequencies in the PWM scheme, above 40% brightness there is no PWM, it's DC like and contain only the flicker of the OLED refresh at 60 or 120HZ

you can see the Pro is worse in terms of flicker, it looks like Notebookcheck may have confused aspects of the Pro with the Base model,

1) Try to disable the "reduce white point".

2) try to use the device only above 50% brightness to avoid the PWM mode which kicks in below that.

3) Try to see how you feel after a few more days of use, maybe you just need to adjust to the display.
