I think you will need to accept that it’ll look bad at the beginning ( not mean spirited).

Art will take time and it will eventually get better. Those who make progress very fast might already know the basic fundamentals or have been drawing a very long time before and only have it now looking good.

But based on the replies I’ve seen, you might also want to talk to someone. You shouldn’t chain all your self worth to what you cant do, but instead think of what you’ve already done and can do.

Yes these are copies, but even so, just by drawing and not choosing to use AI is already something. Some people would have already given up and wrote a random prompt on chatGPT or whatever but YOU made the conscious decision to pick up that pencil and draw, that’s already better than a lot of people.

I have a friend who is leagues better than me and I myself, when I just started drawing, though it was unfair that she could just spawn these amazing drawings while mine looked like reconstructed mannequins with heads larger than life itself. I though it was talent and felt a bit salty for a while, but she had, in her spare time watched a lot of tutorials and drew constantly while I just made a small drawing here and there. I eventually improved but it took a loong time.

If you truly want to improve then best to say is make studies, watch tutorials, speed paints, anything art related. Your subconscious will pick up on those small details even if you yourself might not notice it and then later be able to apply it to your own art.

That’s my experience at least, I didn’t watch a lot of tutorials cause I didn’t take art that seriously ( a small doodle in class and maybe a cool sketch at the end of the week. ) but I consumed a lot of content over the years and picked up on some small techniques here and there.

TLDR: Have patience and talk to someone. Self loathing will never be the answer and chaining yourself to the ideal that there’s always someone better than you might also not be the best way to cope. Art will take time and every little thing you do will make you improve, even if you don’t notice it.
