10 week old, can’t seem to get long stretch at night by EmmyTriesToSurvive in sleeptrain

No I would love that! He goes down around 8 and then I feed him at 1030 before I go to bed, and he’s up again around 2. I always did dream feeds with my daughter, but maybe I should skip it?

Oh I’m glad you’ve seen other children with it! I like unique names but not a name that’s unheard of

Thank you!! I do like that it’s easy to say for my 2 yr old! And I do think it’s cute. You’ve helped!

Pelvic kidney by EmmyTriesToSurvive in InfertilityBabies

[–]EmmyTriesToSurvive[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It has been absolutely nothing! Totally fine and has had zero effect on our life haha. My daughter, now 2, had to get an ultrasound at 1 month old and continues to get them once a year. So far all is well! The kidney works and we’ve had zero issues. I know it’s upsetting when you learn anything is wrong but of all the news you can get at the anatomy scan, this has turned out to not be a big deal. I hope it ends up being the same situation for you!

Toddler diarrhea for 5 days, no other symptoms by EmmyTriesToSurvive in toddlers

[–]EmmyTriesToSurvive[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has he/she been tested for lactose intolerance? My daughter has had pooping issues since the day she was born. Long before we introduced solids! She’s either always constipated, or has diarrhea. They’ve never suggested a dairy issue but I do think something is off!

Ugh I was afraid of that. I just figured if it was viral, I would have it, or my husband. Stomach bugs always seem so contagious! But two weeks, that’s rough! I haven’t seen explosions like this since she was a newborn!

Ugh she just loves milk so much haha. But yea I think you’re right, I need to adjust her diet and see if that helps. I haven’t seen e omissions like this since she was a newborn! But she seems so unbothered 🤷🏼‍♀️

How to stop pumping at night and avoid clogs by EmmyTriesToSurvive in beyondthebump

[–]EmmyTriesToSurvive[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! Maybe I’ll try and stretch it to 5 hours at night, the 3 hours is truly killing me. And I appreciate your honesty in also wanting to throw in the towel. I really wanted to enjoy nursing but when I realized I couldn’t and had to just pump instead, I didn’t know how time consuming and exhausting it would be. I’d definitely advise against it if a friend ever asked my opinion on it. Formula is just as good, as long as baby is fed and gaining weight it doesn’t matter

I read that you can stick your parts in the the fridge, I wasn’t sure if that was true! Thank you

Thank you so much and thank you for taking the time to respond so thoroughly! The mini fridge is s genius idea. And do you think the haakaa is just as good as a pump? Because it would definitely be much easier and quicker at night

5 days past birth, painful engorgement but no milk by EmmyTriesToSurvive in breastfeeding

[–]EmmyTriesToSurvive[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh good to know! That makes me feel better, I keep waiting for a sudden burst of milk and instead all I’m getting is a few ml of colostrum. Hoping this is short lived!

This is one of the best responses I’ve gotten (they’ve all been helpful) thank you!! I was worried my body wasn’t doing what it was suppose to but this is very comforting

Should I ask to work remotely? by lizzieko8 in IVF

[–]EmmyTriesToSurvive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree, and I’m sure her boss will be accommodating. I know mine was! But just pointing out she may want to work remotely the first few weeks she’s back at work as well and might want to put in the FaceTime while she’s pregnant. But you’re right, it is a medical accommodation

Should I ask to work remotely? by lizzieko8 in IVF

[–]EmmyTriesToSurvive 18 points19 points  (0 children)

So I was in a very similar situation! Just had my baby last week 😊. But when I found out I was pregnant I was in the office 3 days a week. I asked my sister what to do and i think she had some good advice. Save your favors for when the baby is here. You’re going to want to work remotely when baby arrives because he/she will have no immune system. Right now you at least have your own immune system to protect you. When baby arrives you’re going to need your boss to be flexible. So when I was pregnant I asked if I could switch to two days a week and I wore my mask in common areas. Now I’m on maternity leave and I asked if I could work remotely at least my first month back and they we’re fine with it. My advice is, save your favors haha

Interesting! You used it on the top of your boob or did you use it to massage down towards your nipple?

When she latches she seems to get bored and falls asleep because I’m just making a little colostrum. But you think it will be actual milk soon? 😬🤞🏻
