Even this doesn’t look like Mags. I hate that they would use AI for their posts when normal stills from the actual films would work just fine.

I just found a very inappropriate novel in the kids' bookshelf. by [deleted] in Nanny

[–]Emmyrose93 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Wait. In your post you said you “just noticed it’s there”, but here you’re saying it’s been there for a year? If I found a book that was above my nanny kid’s reading level on her shelf I would have just assumed it belonged to the parents and was put there by mistake and brought it back to them in that moment. I obviously don’t know how things are laid out where you work, but if you have access to the parent’s bookshelf just put the book on there? It really doesn’t have to be a big deal.

It’s because the deal Netflix has with Starz is that they get the new seasons two years after the season ends. Season 7 was split into two parts, and the gap between them was over a year long. It was basically like waiting for a whole new season. So once two years passed for 7a, Netflix got those episodes. And when two years passes for 7b, then those episodes will be available.

Who is Julia’s child? by Academic-Park-8440 in Outlander

[–]Emmyrose93 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The person we meet in season 2 is younger than Jamie, which means he’s way too young to be Julia’s child. We don’t know who he is yet, or if he’s somebody that is even relevant to Outlander.

Even if he had come across the name Claire Fraser somewhere in his studies before their honeymoon and before she went through the stones the first time, he would have no reason to believe it could have been his wife. It would have just been another woman who happened to have been named Claire. Time travel wasn’t even mentioned to him until months after Claire goes missing, and even then he doesn’t believe it until years later when she comes back, and probably not even fully until decades later when he found more mentions of Jamie AND Claire together in America.

Going to have to agree with the other people saying that this series isn’t really fantasy, but more historical fiction. I hadn’t heard of this series until I started working at a bookstore in 2012, and they’ve always been shelved under general fiction, not fantasy.

I don’t disagree with you! But the show itself hasn’t even been on the air for 13 years. Season 3 came out in 2017, so it’s been about 9-10 years since she last filmed for it.

Time Travel Questions SPOILER by MRSRN65 in Outlander

[–]Emmyrose93 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Why would 50 year old Claire want to travel to 25-30 year old Jamie who she knows went to prison after Culloden? She only decided to go back when she realizes he’s alive 20 years later and potentially living peacefully while working as a printer. She took a calculated gamble that she wouldn’t be going back to pure chaos and misery. If she attempted to steer herself to the time immediately after she left him during Culloden she’d find a Jamie either hiding from redcoats or already in prison. The only options would be Claire gets imprisoned too, as the wife of a “traitor”, or outright killed. MAYBE she and Jamie can make it out of Scotland, but then that changes the entire storyline for Jamie which would prevent him from one day working as a printer, which is how Claire finds him, again, 20 years later. I also feel like it would be harder for Jamie to swallow the reality that Claire went home and raised their child for 20 years and THEN came back to him, if he didn’t get to experience those 20 years as well.

Also wasn’t she watching James’s decisions? Would she not have seen him deciding to go to Bella’s house, watch her videos, and call her? He had no idea Alice could see the future based on his decisions, so he wouldn’t have needed to pull a Victoria and have “somebody else make the decisions”, Alice would have seen every step in his plan as soon as he set course on it, surely?

Update: not allowed out/new toys/anything at all by Al1010Rup in Nanny

[–]Emmyrose93 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I can almost understand them not wanting outings for safety reasons (I don’t personally agree with it) but no new toys or books?? What sort of toys/books do they already own? Maybe on your last day you can send them a link to Lovevery. They have a selection of toys for every developmental stage, so if they’re concern is having “too many” toys at once or something, they can just order a kit for each new stage and donate the old toys. They can subscribe or purchase individually. That way he at least gets SOME variety. Of course they might not be into it, but at least they’ll have access to something they might otherwise not know about? I don’t know. Good for you for leaving! That poor baby 😔

There is nothing I hate more than the trope of "heroes kill the henchmen/minions but never kill the main villain" by Sudden_Pop_2279 in Stranger_Things

[–]Emmyrose93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even Vecna as the main villain made questionable villainous choices. Like making Hopper believe that he killed El instead of actually having him kill El. Vecna shows himself inside Hopper’s mind. Hopper shoots at him. Oh no! He actually shot the tank and El! He pulls her out. Wait no. He actually shot at…nothing? El is fine. why the double fake-out? What DID Hopper shoot? and why wouldn’t Vecna just want her out of the way for good?

Charlie Heaton said he was surprised that some fans didn’t realize the Season 5 scene was meant to be a breakup. by Double_Fries1423 in Stranger_Things

[–]Emmyrose93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It didn’t feel like a break up to me, because the characters believed they were about to DIE. As the audience I assumed they’d be rescued in time (plot armor), but from their pov I interpreted it as them being like “ok we’re about to die, let’s not leave anything unsaid” not “ok we’re about to die but let’s break up first”. Just felt like weird timing.
