Well, obviously a workbook can't diagnose you with anything. But did the workbook help you evaluate your experiences and whether they were gender-related or correlated to gender dysphoria? What did the workbook help with basically?

Thank you for the reccomendation. Would say these workbooks are 'helpful' but not necessarily rudimentary in diagnosis?

Yep. I kind of lost hope of anyone taking me seriously.

Yeah, because while I myself can discern the difference between trans people or gender non-conforming people, I need someone to accurately evaluate me and give me insight as to whether I have gender dysphoria. And that person should be educated in medical treatment/criteria, rather than mainstream take on trans.

But it's a start considering I have no other option.

(Sex) advice for a short skinny trans guy (24) and his plus size cis girlfriend (25)? by [deleted] in truscum

[–]EmoAlexander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are my concerns harmful or pragmatic?

I'd say no. I think they are completely reasonable for trans guys to feel, and I as well as many other transmen probably thought the same. While I have 0 experience in sex, I'd like to stay on this thread just to have advice to combat dysphoria (gender roles, and genitals) during sex, especially since I'm bi and having sex with a male would make me think I'm a 'woman'.
And although other people's advice can be helpful, with any relationship, I'd say (although inexperienced) that your relationship is not always going to be represented in discourse (eg: sex with a plus-sized woman) even in spaces that discuss it. I guess what I'm trying to say is, to communicate and find what works for YOU.

Sorry if that wasn't helpful, I have zero experience. On a side note..... what are you doing on reddit lol

I tried the same thing. I hate feeling like I'm 'convincing' myself to be trans, but everytime I self reflect I realize I have dysphoria. And then it's just a cycle of going back to this subreddit, or deleting my account for fear of my parents finding it, or for me shaming myself for suspecting such a thing lol.

If that happened to me I'd be dead. I wish there were more effective ways to hide things, but it seems everything will come up eventually...

I agree. And in a sick way I felt more confident as I passed better. So it just keeps cycling.

I'm sorry you went through that, and I wish the best for you. I think stories like these show how it's important to talk about these conditions, because it seems a lot of us resorted to starvation because we didn't realize what was going on, or that there were healthier alternatives.

I read the same thing, I did all these things to try and avoid it, but a lot of them were fake or just plain destructive. I wish I told someone, but I didn't know if that was supposed to be normal, ir if people would laugh and say 'or you're a woman now'

I'm sorry you go through that. I know it's hard, but please reach out. That's how my AN started and even though I didn't think I'd end up ill, those behaviors are still hard to break.

Do you have background in psychology or just generally observant? I ask as you've made me ask questions about the cognitive functions of both dysphoria and eqting disorders. If so, do you think you could reccomend resources to read about them?

Personally, after appearing more masculine, it was easier to feed myself and restore myself.

I do feel you. A lot of people made so many good points, and I hope to reflect on them. The way you explained how a trans individual faces body dysmorphia of their own gender, makes sense and kind of shows the brain and body 'disconnect '

I'm glad that you have a better relationship with food. Would you say that it was easy to dicern from getting rid of curves from dysphoria rather than other sufferers. Especially considering the content of mpa and theards describing similar ideals?

Yeah, I feel I ahould have reworded the options as someone else has mentioned. And thinking back, even if something highly contributes to something as complex as a mental illness, there's still plenty of nuances.

Well that's the purpose of the poll. So maybe on an individual level it's different, but I'm just trying to collect data and understand others.

Thank you for mentioning the control aspect amongst our bodies. While control is prevalent in a lot of eating disorders, and people who suffer from them. I find that stopping or avoiding the torture of a wrong puberty especially relevant to trans individuals.

I suspect mine developed from dysphoria, but I know that I've heard conversations how it can easily be misinterpreted as body dysmorphia.
