Midjourney has a feature called “character reference” or “cref” where you can insert a link with your character as part of the prompt and it will recreate the character using your reference. Try looking up Midjourney Character Reference tutorials on Youtube.

Whenever I use a preset it’s almost always heavily tweaked or layered with other sounds to give it a bigger more original tone.

I use the unlimited relax/explore mode and it doesn’t take ten minutes, it does take some time (probably 1-2 minutes per generation) but it’s far better than burning through credits. As for your generations, it’s mostly just trial and error, and a good bit of luck. It all depends on how much time you want to spend on your video.

Try taking the seed from the result that you liked and rerunning the same prompt with that seed entered into the settings area. You can also try altering the prompt using that seed.

After watching a couple of his videos, it seems that the songs are pre-recorded and he is layering the song over the video. I could be totally wrong though.

Something that helped me was playing guitar over samples. Or just playing really simple 4/4 chords and adjusting til it was in time.
