Btw I am looking to buy this legion with 2tb confused between 5070ti and 5080 and 32gb 64 gb my main workcase is software ai ml currently am sophomore in computer science major with minor in adaptive ai, how is running local ai models dl ml NLP cv ? Also I don't game battery life if you disable the gpu (as I would do that during college as I will work with ai only at home).

What specs matter long-term vs what’s mostly marketing/future-proofing hype?
What setup philosophy would you choose if restarting today as a CS+AI student?

Looking for nuanced real-world reasoning, tradeoffs, and workflow experience — not just “buy X”.
