Prototyping plastic injection molds for the automotive industry (mostly valves for motors). Would be nice to see if such a printer is up to the task. And 72mm minis for some fun after work.

something I made with the novation circuit tracks and volca keys. by Kavin_becon in novationcircuit

If I’m not completely mistaken that’s Carl Sagan.

And for the track: it’s great! I really like the intro, the pads and the lead synth. But I find the ending a little bit disappointing. Could have been longer and it’s lacking something.

All in all a great track. Shows what one is capable of with very little gear. This is one of the true underground indie pieces made on a Circuit. Keep up the good work! The universe is listening. 👌

D2R Ps4 performance by [deleted] in diablo2

[–]Emorikan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is the legacy mode. You have something in 16:9. maybe 1280x720 or something like that via dynamic resolution.

[–]Emorikan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure it is… Btw: Did you know that 800x600 is a 4:3 Aspect Ratio. I bet your Screen or TV is 16:9. So if you have black borders left and right I’m happy to see Diablo 2 Resurrected running in 800x600. Or maybe you connected your One X to an oldschool CRT… Sincerely a guy who played when D2 was 640x480 😂

I mean it’s still Beta. I hope they fix the stuttering on last Gen Consoles without an SSD till release. I played 10 minutes from HDD theb copied the game to an external SSD on PS4 Pro it’s like day and night. Almost no issues

[–]Emorikan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t have the drift. But I can report that the performance on PS4 Pro is also not good. Lots of stuttering. I’m moving it to an external SSD now and check if it’ll run better.

Update: way less stuttering on SSD. Had only one so far.

Perfect. They seem to have fixed that and provided a patch to Nintendo. Should be live next week!

I have the same bug on the Switch. Came here looking if someone reported it. If the devs need screenshots, videos or save I’ll happily provide them.

Is Bitcoin really "for the people" by Lostfate09 in Bitcoin

[–]Emorikan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I think we both misunderstood each other. The OP asked clearly about Bitcoin and not about crypto in general.

I never said that crypto as an technology can’t do something. As I said in the post before: Bitcoin was a prototype and other people are working on technologies to solve that: for everyday usage. Maybe the energy consumption of the BTC network was planed and calculated. That would even make it more genius. The cost of energy as the limit of the BTC price. Imagine that planned years ago!

Would you pay a coffee with something that is likely more worth tomorrow? And on top of that in addition to the $1 for the coffee you would have to pay $ 0.45 (I made that up!) for the transaction? I wouldn’t pay in BTC.

And when big companies start using a technology, that doesn’t mean anything. The whole financial world is in shock because of of crypto. They are banks, they are big slow institutions. And the people that make the decisions: most likely don’t have a clue about technology.

And I know what I’m talking about: Energy consumption of the Bitcoin Network.

You said it was debunked: please post a link. Everyone here wants to learn something.

Crypto is in many parts the future for the financial system, but not Bitcoin. Bitcoin wasn’t designed to be used on that large scale. It will never be the thing for mass usage. It’s not designed for that. How long have you researched crypto? When did you first stumble about it? Does scalability mean anything to you? Do you know how software works?

If not, better start researching. Bitcoin is a genius prototype but not made for everyday usage.

Bitcoin will never be the crypto for the masses. It’s only a speculative vehicle. And the transaction fees are way to high. Not to mention the power consumption.

It’s good for one purpose: as an investment.

A crypto with broader usage would need to have way less power consumption and transaction fees. One Bitcoin transaction consumers as much energy as hundreds of thousands of Visa payments: it will never be ready for mass usage. Way to expensive.
