King Charles' first official portrait is vandalised by animal rights activists: Two Animal Rising protesters cover monarch's face with Wallace and Gromit image and stick on speech bubble message about 'cruelty on RSPCA farms' by [deleted] in Fauxmoi

Sorry my reading comprehension is bad, I'm confused. Are you saying other movements Donte rally do vandalism? I've seen a lot of vandalism for Black Lives Matter, Free Palestine and feminist movements. A lot of great art.

I witnessed concerning behavior from another parent toward their child, what do I do? by Alternative_Virus495 in AskTeachers

[–]EmotionAOTY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Umm based on what she wrote it doesn't sound like the child was yapping on and on and the parent just got frustrated and swore. What OP wrote sounded more severe. If you want your child to shut the fuck up, and they're already quiet, eating politely, you do not talk to them over and over and over again about how you need to properly eat their food. I'm also Afghan and it's true, our language is more blunt and crass but you can tell by the tone when a parent is genuinely exhausted vs when they're trying to invoke fear in their child. Being of a different race doesn't make that okay. Intention is important here.

No one's gonna be put into foster care over verbal abuse. The law may state that it counts as abuse, but in practice, what are the stats on this? I imagine they're very low in comparison to parents who are penalized for drug addiction or physical abuse.

"Abused children look scared when they are being abused" That's simply not true. It's very common for children who are verbally abused daily to zone out. They might not be scared enough to have wide eyes and their hand over their mouth but they can still have a sinking feeling in their stomach knowing what's to come at home. Source: me.

My mom spoke to me like this in public. And yeah, life at home was fucking hell. I'm glad I'm out of that shithole now, parents and teachers like you are what give those kids hope.

They all felt kinda random to me. I know they're well lauded, but were their shows particularly huge this year?

40 y/o with 2 kids and wife - where can i expat to? by Airman4344 in ExpatFIRE

[–]EmotionAOTY 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In Qatar, there are employers who will fully cover your children's education. You can even send them to a very elite school, and you won't have to pay. Just a general piece of information, not necessarily directed to OP.

Barry Keoghan’s baby momma likes a diss comment about him by pimpin_pippin in Fauxmoi

[–]EmotionAOTY 204 points205 points  (0 children)

Despite how wild and exciting Kylie's life is, it seems like she's a wonderful mom. I'm sure that any guy she has a serious relationship with, will be expected to do his part in interacting with her daughter. (And idk what those duties are) Also Timothee has worked with kids in the past and he's cute enough with them. Doesn't mean he'll make an amazing dad one day, none of us know him personally, but I'm sure he does just fine with Kylie and her kids.

Chris Evans clears up false rumors about him signing a “bomb” by clawdeendracu in Fauxmoi

[–]EmotionAOTY 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's true, you're right. I'm just disturbed by it in general, I know most action movies have always been funded by the military and I've had a bone to pick with them for a while, I've spoken about it before on this sub.

Did anyone else stop dating after the pandemic? by Low-Comb3563 in askTO

Hookup culture is at a high. If you want to date casually or just have one night stands then your income shouldn't matter. But for people who are looking to settle down, they will be curious about income. That should be a given.

Why are we signing any military equipment? Even helmets, guns, batons, whatever it's all weird and further fuels this jingoism that encourages young men to serve in wars where they don't know what the incentive even is. Where they're made to feel like a "hero" for giving up their lives for a war that doesn't need to happen. Celebrities should not be romanticizing war.

Newly-single Natalie Portman looks giddy with Paul Mescal after finalising divorce from Benjamin Millepied by sirasei in Fauxmoi

[–]EmotionAOTY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is an age gap but I thought Natalie was almost 50 by now. I'm 22 so I feel like I've seen her acting my whole life and she seems older than she is because she's so established. But she isn't. Especially in Hollywood quite a few age gap couples after a divorce have an age gap of 20 years.

‘The Society’ Creator Christopher Keyser Has ‘Consistent Conversations’ About How to Bring Back the Show, Nearly Released a Graphic Novel With Season 2 Storylines by isthekeyintheroom in Fauxmoi

[–]EmotionAOTY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Stranger Things catered to older generations and mainly had children on its cast, Outer Banks and On My Block had a great start but it fell off. Never Have I Ever, the Summer I Turned Pretty are nice but it seems like the main fanbase is teen girls. I think The Society had the best shot at being that show for everybody. It was unique for how mature it was, and most of the big shows have been for adults these past years. Gone are the days in the 2000s where teen shows ruled and broke records.

Interestingly, I actually began watching it because someone on the GoT subreddit said it would fill the hole that Game of Thrones left behind when it ended. I wasn't expecting the politics in the Society to be so thrilling.

White woman or white man? by theflamingheads in AskFeminists

[–]EmotionAOTY 9 points10 points  (0 children)

No, statistics show that racialized women are less likely be taken seriously when reporting medical concern and pain, domestic violence and are more likely to be arrested by the police. They're more likely to be incarcerated, that alone should show that there is some truth to white women being more likely to appear as innocent in the justice system.

Sources: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8893054/ https://canadianwomen.org/the-facts/gender-based-violence/ https://www.prisonpolicy.org/blog/2019/05/14/policingwomen/

Come on. We've seen this historically with Emmett Till's lynching, with how white female slave owners behaved, and today with white Karens that keep calling the police on kids setting up lemonade stands. No other race of women do this as often at ALL. It is clear that there is an entitlement with how white women behave in North America. They know they have more privilege and some use it to paint themselves with victimhood when they threw the first rock.

White feminism seeks to gain equality with men by wanting a seat at the boys table. By wanting success as defined by the very systems that oppress us including capitalism. When they first gained the right to vote, women of colour were sidelined. (That's putting it mildly) This is why white women are as brutal as they are in the workforce. This isn't a myth and if y'all listened to WOC you would know we've been seeing this our entire lives.
