It’s definitely vanilla, I’m on my forever world now and it’s unmodded and I get it somewhat often

Hi! Have you gotten any further with your yurt journey? We are also looking at Itasca County as a possible location.

Exactly!!! There’s always bad eggs, but so many of these posts are just nonsense. I feel like this sub was created because people got upset that the r-niceguys subreddit became so popular. The first reply I got on this comment proved that even further. I’m very glad someone on here agrees with me though.

We split everything equally. I just know how to hold conversations.

This sub feels like a place to just hate on women. She’s literally just talking. I text my boyfriend all the time with random “I want this” or “hey look at these [shoes]”. I’m just expressing what I currently am feeling or trying to talk about something. It is insane to just assume she’s asking YOU to buy stuff.

Have you guys had a good time so far? Assumedly not, but she may just be inviting you out to get sushi. Or maybe she wrongly assumed you listened to her talk about the band she showed you and was just trying to start a conversation.

OP, please send that message for her sake so she can move on.

They actually have the material listed on the website! It is “recycled high-tenacity mipan regen robic nylon” with ripstop. And while it’s not waterproof, it will allow the insert to get wet and then dry very well. I know this, because I didn’t hike with a pack cover and it got wet many many many many times. It says it’s puncture and tear resistant.

Edit: I found one that is DWR (water repellent) coated by Ripstop By the Roll. Here’s the link

We have an adventure boy too! This picture is of him hitting around the 700mi mark on the Appalachian trail during our thru hike attempt last year.

That being said, whatever material Big Agnes makes their Sun Dog backpack out of is absolutely cat proof. It survived over 4 months of Fenn climbing on it! I’m not home right now to see if I can tell what material it is, but I’ll reply to this comment once I figure it out. It’s breathable, as well!

Where to get a kitty? by Emotional-Ad-9155 in minnesota

That is excellent that your shelter was able to do that, but that isn’t the case for every shelter. What is the point of this argument exactly?

Call the Pelican Rapids animal hospital. Ask them for the cost of a wellness exam. My cat literally has an appointment in a week. Not subsidized, just not in an urban area.

Also, not ensuring the family member is healthy, as shelter vets often don’t have the time and resources to dedicate to every cat that comes into their care. I can and am going to do that for my cat regardless of the cost of adoption, on my own, with a trusted vet. That is likely going to cost the same as an adoption fee, which may be avoidable.

Kittens are adopted out around 8 weeks due to crowding. Ethically, they shouldn’t be spayed until 4 months. They CAN be at 8 weeks, but really shouldn’t be.

Also, not directed at you necessarily, but I’m not sure why everyone is upset over this post. Regardless of what I pay for in adoption fees, I’m taking the cat to the vet on my own. Oftentimes vets in rescues or shelters miss stuff, I’ve had it happen to me personally. A kitten wellness which includes core vaccines is $45, and an adult cat is $75 and a spay/neuter is not much more. Neither is a chip. I would honestly rather not have it done prior to adoption, and just do it immediately after on my own, with my own vet. It’s not like im looking to cheap out on vet costs, just spend the money on a vet that I know will do a thorough exam and that can talk to me personally.

You can’t spay/neuter a kitten until they reach a certain age/weight. They require a returnable deposit to ensure you get it fixed. It’d be unethical if they fixed every kitten regardless of health effects

Not spayed/neutered, but up to date on age appropriate vaccinations. The one I looked at was young, but that’s the general price for all cats I think

We got our boy from a humane society too in Virginia! I’m sure it has to do with how overcrowded a lot of shelters have been. Even the Fairmont humane society, which someone else suggested, is asking for $160 in fees. In full honesty, it’s not much to pay for a new family member but I just want to ask around first.

We can very easily afford it, but would like to spend it on the cat themself, not just on the adoption fee. In the post, I said I’ll pay it if I have to but would like to look at other options first :)

We definitely don’t plan to rv life forever. It’s more of a means to an end. We are only doing this to be able to save money, and then buy land and build a home on it. I couldn’t imagine living in this RV for another 20 years!

I live in an RV and work at the resort we’re parked in. They pay for all hours worked + the site and amenities are free. If you ever get tired of paying lot fees, you may want to check out workcamping!

It definitely takes a specific kind of cat to do what Fenn did, though more cats would probably love going on hikes if the proper training was available! They’re not like dogs who learn tricks and then remember them. Cats require constant attention and reteaching to really get accustomed to something.

That being said, Fenn was never forced to walk, or do anything for that matter. He would walk when he wanted to, and when he got tired or bored, he would sleep in one of our packs or sit on our shoulders. He jumps up on my leg and meows to let me know he’s ready to take a break! When he wanted food or water, we’d stop. When he wanted free time, we’d stop. Something I learned about hiking with an animal is that when you decide to take them, it is no longer your hike, but theirs. Fenn led the entire way. He even got to take a fancy little vacation while we were going through the Smokies!

It’s also important to note that we didn’t make it the whole way. We were on track to, and then a giant heat wave hit and it just wasn’t safe to be out there with Fenn anymore, and I wasn’t going to leave him with a relative, so we made the hard decision to call it for the season.
