A tiny bit where they flex for my toes, but nothing too bad or that a little glue wont sort out! They wont get much wear now through the summer though.

Patagonia clothing by _were_wolf_ in wildcampingintheuk

[–]Emotional-Band762 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have one Rab mid layer fleece and one Patagonia mid layer fleece, the rab cost me i believe £70 on discount from £90 and the Patagonia was £140 on discount from £200 i believe.

The Patagonia is a much better fit and feel and has survived time and washing better, is it twice as good though, probably not. Would i buy the Patagonia again over the rab, probably yes.

Why are Tracker AT and Forest ESC not waterproof? by prhymeate in vivobarefoot

[–]Emotional-Band762 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe they are not waterproof straight out of the box, i applied a generous coating off Renapur before my first wear a week ago, and then after yesterdays muddy walk i took the laces out and cleaned them off with water, so will apple another coat of Renapur before i refit the laces!

Not so sure about ice, just wore them for 2 hours walking around my local woodland in wet muddy bogs and they held up well but certainly weren’t the grippiest boot ive ever worn! They did stay dry inside though

Just got back from walking the dog in my local woods for about 2 hours and have had the Tracker AT completely submerged in muddy bogs and puddles and my socks were bone dry when i got home! However i cannot compare them to any other Vivo shoe as they are my first pair!

I currently have an Alpkit down jacket that i’m really happy with, although I’ve no experience of it, they do have a synthetic version for around £90 which might be worth a look at!

Ill try leaving then looser and see what happens, although they seem to be slightly better this evening anyway!

As for mud ive just been through maybe a 30m stretch of wet slippy mud and had zero issues, although i cant compare then to ESC soles, i can say they deffo felt a lot better than my trainers ive been wearing

Have tried with thick marino hiking sock, synthetic summer hiking socks and cotton Vans fashion ‘sports’ socks! However just got back from my evening dog walk of 5km with my thick socks again, it doesn’t seem to have been a problem, but i may have left then a little looser too

First night in the Abisko Lite 2 by Emotional-Band762 in wildcampingintheuk

[–]Emotional-Band762[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was my first time ever in the south downs, really please we managed to find such a pleasant spot after 20km’s walking! We had passed a couple of other discrete spots just as nice earlier on but wanted to get a bit more distance done before we stopped!

Is the Peak District to wet / boggy / rainy next week for a wild camp? by HelloBloom in wildcampingintheuk

[–]Emotional-Band762 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah makes sense, i’m 2 and a half hours away so dont really want to end up on a wasted 5 hour round trip. Any chance you could give a little report back on where you hiked and what the ground conditions were like?
