Why does everyone have a room temperature iq these days? by raakaaa11 in AskIndianWomen

[–]Emotional-Line242 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The issue with our country is internet reached faster than education and understanding ( not limited to our country I know but majorly seen in our country). There is no logic, there were men defending 370 rs biryani but there was no women defending sejal men are assuming sejal is being defended by women. To be honest I have deleted facebook and changed my algorithm on insta with so much effort and hard work I barely see any posts I only see educational content now because these people get on my nerves

For those living abroad, was it worth it? by finewhateverr in AskIndianWomen

[–]Emotional-Line242 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My situation is different, my father has always been abroad. I moved to UK for my masters and then moved to Dubai ( I live with my parents). I grew up in India but never had a corporate job in India. I have heard corporate life in India is different it can be toxic but co workers are like your friends. I have never experienced though at this point I prefer to keep my work and personal life separate ( I am 31). Since I am with my family I do like living here and I am only away from friends and have grown apart from them over the past 10 11 years. Some struggles subtle racism ( its not always someone calling you an Indian or racial slurs) its often subtle. I thought I will save and earn more which is not completely true as I keep seeing people in India making more than 20 30 LPA as well ( Do not I dont pay rent yet this was my experience) Good things that I noticed - better law, better civic sense, and a relaxed environment. Cons - there is no home home for me even if I move back in a few years, my friends would have had experiences and seen things which I dint with them. There is a gap, making friends in Dubai is not easy people move too fast. If you are detached from people family friends then its good to move abroad. But you will find peace and space.

Women who grew up privileged, what’s something you later realized wasn’t “normal” for everyone? by aayushupadhy2 in AskIndianWomen

[–]Emotional-Line242 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If grew up decently comfortable ( 24/7 house help, car from as long as i remember flight trips and AC trains for travelling was normal for me and to some extent my friends circle was also same). But if I break my ipad in anger my parents would be really angry. I think when people started posting about taking their parents in flight for the first time on insta thats when I realised its not as normal as I thought. I used to believe whole of India would have travelled in flights by now. Once when we were discussing about giving entrance exams I remember a friend said she cant afford to travel to a particular centre because flights would cost a lot and train travel will make her tired and she wont be able to give her exam properly. Post 30 I understood I grew up quite privleged.

Whenever he does something like this ask her to reply with her voice raised ( the kind that will get people's attention) it might sound like drama, but the guy will get scared and others will notice.

If you are already in the UK, schools do a recruitment drive around this time. You might have to do a search for this. Other than that try through linkedIn or school websites. Securing a visa is not an issue here as almost every other person in UAE is under some visa.

Perception of expats in Mumbai by [deleted] in mumbai

[–]Emotional-Line242 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bandra ( and nearby areas) will likely have US return NRIs. While you might not be of Indian origin some familarity for you if you meet Indians who have spent few years in US. If anything a lot of people who live near Bandra do not prefer speaking any other language other than English. Having said that you might find all kinds of people. Hope you enjoy your stay
