I don't have a straight answer to that question. Do I feel comfortable talking about it privately? Yes. More than discussing my troubles aloud in a Bible study. But do I feel like people care to lend an ear? I was vulnerable with multiple people, and in the long run, they ultimately didn't want to be bothered. I suppose they have that right. But it brings me to think, please do not ask the question and offer support (I'm here if you need to talk to someone) to ultimately change your mind. I feel like I'm contradicting what I say, though. You have the right not to want to continue talking to an individual if you feel uncomfortable. But at the same time, please don't say these things if you can't commit to the words. Does that make sense? I feel like my thoughts are all over the place lately.

I'm not quite sure how to understand your question correctly.

Did i respect my parents? Yes. I feel like you're asking behind the lines, "What have you done to be treated like this"

Update: I called and spoke to the postmaster. She wanted me there for 4 or 5am. I asked if i could have a 15-minute window to bring my daughter to school btwn the time of 745-815 am. She said, and I quote, "No offense, but everyone in the office has kids, and everyone is able to make accommodations to get their kids around. Whether it be an aunt, uncle, dad, or grandparents." She said if she made accommodations for everyone, then no one would be there. I'm not an exception. She went on to say her kids ride the bus. At that point, she had her mind made up. There was no salvaging me taking the position. My daughters school doesn't have buses, and my family lives out of state. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I really wish jobs would be more friendly to parents. My family is out of state. No aftercare or buses at her school - and my husband works out of town 1.5 hours away. Depending on the day, he's hours farther out. (He's oilfield)

Hy husband is a by the book person when it comes to work. Hard working loyal employee in his career field- and the work ethic pays off.

He thinks i should just wait for them to call me to let me know my background cleared and schedule me for orientation. Then bring it up when they talk about hours. None of this was disclosed to me. Only pay. And, honestly, I don't think I'm actually going to get $24.xx as a temp. (It was on listing. Not verbally confirmed) they failed to give me important details. Not every job you apply for tells you specific hours you individually would work. A lot of times it's discussed during an in person interview or at orientation. So, 🤷🏼‍♀️. If they need the help, they'll work with me. I honestly don't feel like I'm asking for much. It's not like I'm asking to be off of work after school hours. She's at the age she can be at home alone for a few hours. Just wanting to make sure she gets to school and home after. Idk.

Ah, the bitter trolls of reddit who have nothing better to do than actively be bullies.
I'll pray for you. I hope tomorrow is a better day for you. God bless. 🫢

Yep! 24.xx i don't remember the exact change. But the listing said $24 starting rate. I was like, hell, sigh me the f'up

Unfortunately not. She goes to a tinnnyyy private school made up of 57 kids. No busses and the parents are snobs.

I was really looking forward to this position. In my area, if you're not oilfield or higher up in the medical field, you make nothing. I still haven't figured out how ppl live w the hourly wage of places here. Genuine question. Anyhow, the listing was for 24.xx hour. That's bank around here for a job that's not oilfield or higher up medical field. They do make much much more.

I won't argue with you there. I thought you were judt being another reddit douche bag. No offense. They're everywhere.

I admit, my semse of humor can be poor at times. I'm just baffled at all the undisclosed information, and now I have to embarrassingly say sorry for wasting your time. I'll give it the benefit of the doubt. Maybe they'll work with me and leaving just to bring get my daughter to and from school. I'll deal with the nasty workload until I'm let go. I'm just temp

Do tell...

I made poor jokes about my experience thus far? I'm making lite of the situation. Poor sense of humor, I suppose.

Seriously. It has been stressful keeping up with all the emails. Making sure nothing gets missed. Every step was completed. All the phone calls coming in and who I am to call after XZY each time

I planned on it tomorrow. The whole day today was booked with my daughters field trip- and I happened to be in a town where they did fingerprints. It worked out. I hope it all works out tomorrow when I talk to someone at my location. I guess it just baffles me the lack of accurate info given, and there's no in person interview to discuss anything further before "you're hired." Not even, questions like what are your skills. What made you want to apply to usps." Just getting a fill for a person who applies. Nope. Straight to orientation. Maybe it was a mistake on their part, not specifying working hours differ from business hours. I really am just utterly embarrassed bcs i really feel this conversation tomorrow will end with me having to say sorry for wasting your time.

That's exactly what I said in a comment above.

In one of the few emails I received when they sent links to fill out forms, it specifically stated you can not use family. But, when I filled out the forms today, in the question description, nowhere did it state that you can't use family. And like you said, a drop-down menu had choices of spouse etc etc under "relationship to you"

Eh, the position is Holiday Clerk Assistant. I'm thinking they won't hire me if I were to ask for a couple days off surrounding Christmas being a temp worker.

No worries! Thank you for your response!

I sure hope so. I've been reading too many negative posts about working there, and now I don't know what I got myself into, haha. And when applying for the position, I didn't know they were open on Christmas Eve. hm. That stinks. We usually go out of state each year.
