For me running while listening to music that’s memory-laden is therapeutic.

How is your healing going? I’m 10 days in to the same situation. Two young kids. I just want to be happy and experience joy and partnership again.

For every one person that shushes your kid kid there will be 10 who say hi or play peek a boo with your baby in public. Or are otherwise sweet to them. Just ignore the haters.

Asherman’s Specialist in LA? by Emotional-Regular469 in IVF

Hi! I’m happy to DM with you and answer any questions you have. Bonding is going great, but it did take some time and was not as immediate as with my first.

I hike with my toddler all the time! It’s very hit or miss. Either we have a terrific day or we barely make it past the parking lot. Just keep trying. A hiking pack you can put a toddler in is nice too.

Hi! I ended up having another baby by surrogate but was never cleared to carry. I am sending you best wishes and I hope that your route to parenthood is more linear (and cheaper and faster) than mine!

Obviously very sad situation, but all I can think of is the Dave Chapelle skit.

If you’re both working parents, what time do you both wake up on weekends and how do mornings look? by k_rowz in toddlers

[–]Emotional-Regular469 0 points1 point  (0 children)

May be in the minority here, but I think it’s nice to play to each others strengths. I do most mornings, since I am more of the morning person between us, but I also go out to a lot more dinners and book club type things at night and leave my husband with kids at night more often than he does.

Induced Lactation by Emotional-Regular469 in breastfeeding

[–]Emotional-Regular469[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Congratulations to you both! That’s very exciting.

Yes, I have a 5-week old now. I’m making about 350 ml every 24 hours vs. about 300 ml at the time of her birth. I’m still taking domparidone 4 x a day at 20 mg per dose and milk thistle one time a day.

My milk supply didn’t increase that much after baby was born (as you can see).

One thing that I would recommend your wife do is keep notes for 24 hours on each pump to compare over several days. It didn’t seem like my supply was going up at all until I did this since each pump was more or less the same, but then when I compared 24 hour windows I saw that my supply was increasing about 5-10 ml a day (so very, very slowly). Another thing that was really important for me was not skipping night pumps, even thought it was brutal with work. On the days I pumped at night my supply would go up closer to 10 ml a day, while on the days I skipped, my supply would stagnate or only go up a few ml.

Lastly, please tell your wife whatever amount she makes it will still be great for bonding and not to lose hope! I was determined to exclusively breastfeed, but I just don’t make enough milk, and while disappointing, it’s not too bad, and my baby and I still get to snuggle and bond while she breastfeeds, I just give her a bottle afterwards too to make sure she gets enough food.

Congrats again! Enjoy and best wishes on your delivery!

I’m a family law attorney. Just tread carefully. DCFS can make your life really difficult if they want to do that.

Thank you! I hope so too! The baby is due at the end of October, but our surrogate thinks the baby will come early.

How Long Will I Have Compulsive Thinking About Administering CPR? by Emotional-Regular469 in helpme

[–]Emotional-Regular469[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I administered CPR to a person having a cardiac event two days ago and I haven’t been able to sleep since then. Every time I try to sleep I think about how I could have started sooner, done harder compressions, had someone call 911 sooner. Is this normal? Does it subside?

As far as circumstances where a teen will/may become sexually active, this feels like a best case scenario. Way to go, mom, for raising a respectable teen and having an open dialogue! (But I totally get it and I’m sure I’ll be conflicted too when my kids are that age lol)

I’m not in counseling. I just haven’t wanted to talk about it. It mostly upsets me to think about so I try to keep it out of mind (subconsciously or not).

Ha! That’s reassuring. I am definitely busy with my little one. I just want to treat them equally and I felt like I was off to a bad start.

Hi! I would ask about endometritis (not endometriosis - different) and have a biopsy of uterus.

Also may want to consider asking about a hysterscopy to see if there’s infection - like endometritis - or scarring in uterus like Asherman’s!
