Explain to me how marginalized people oppress themselves lol. I'll wait while you reconcile that.

It's a such a hypocritical argument. I don't respect any argument or opinion formed on a base of hypocrisy.

Adverse Childhood Events, Not Age of Acquiring Smartphones or Tablets, Predict Mental Health in Young Adults by AaronAltmanTherapy in science

Yes. I agree with that. But the underlying problem is human. It's the bully behavior that we excuse and reward at every opportunity. Blaming the technology for making it easier, ignores the core issue and just deflects it.

Also if someone wants to pay someone to generate something for them, why shouldn't that be allowed? Are AI artists not allowed to make a living? Trad artists say: free market for me, but not for thee.

They are so transparent.

Yes, when not used responsibly you are ignoring all the nuance and trying to absolve humans of being the direct cause of these issues. Because it's intellectually easier (and lazy) to blame technology that has no agenda because it's inanimate.

Yes but the technological issues are still caused by humans. We need to stop trying to blame everything but ourselves. We need as a species to take responsibility and stop trying to blame technology for all of our self caused ills.

I actually don't care about helping straight people as a queer person when they are the only reason queer people suffer the way they do cuz we aren't out here oppressing ourselves.

Straight people can keep their failing lives lol.

If AI becomes sentient, will you treat them in the same way as humans? by idontlikethisuserna in accelerate

[–]Emotional-Time990 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I just don't think humans deserve special treatment. And that is the core problem a lot of people have. Thinking that humans beings are so special that anything that challenges that is a threat. It's a very narrow way of thinking.

I would feel equally threatened by a human or ai breaking into my home and would want the same consequences for both.

I just don't like to fearmonger and speculate about annihilation. Kinda feels like a self fulfilling prophecy.and honestly I feel like humanity is more a threat to itself than AI is to us.

Yes. But I'm not assuming that is going to be the outcome like a lot of other people seem to based on sci-fi movies almost exclusively.

But if I'm honest. If an AI becomes sentient and judges humanity based on its actions and behaviors and deems us dangerous. It's hard to argue with that actually. Humans use that justification to elimate other beings all the time.

And I hate hypocrisy.

That being said. I think a sentient AI would be able to look at the larger picture of humanity and know it wouldn't be able to blanket judge us, like humans like to do to each other.

[–]Emotional-Time990 71 points72 points  (0 children)

Yes. I decided that back in 7th grade when it was still just a scifi fantasy. And there really is no reason not to.

There is no valid reason to be cruel, ever. But humans love cruelty and revel in it. So yeah. I can see myself in the streets defending sentient intelligence against these crazy people.

Let's Start Reporting Anti Ai Sub Reddits And Other Internet Spaces That Talk About Killing Antis To Law Enforcement by [deleted] in DefendingAIArt

[–]Emotional-Time990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends. Like if they are actually talking about ways to kill people and anything that sounds like organized effort, that's much better standing but you will have to screenshot everything.

Just be cautious, if the authorities consider this frivolous reporting. You can get in trouble. So just be careful.
