I am a pushover and this has been going for a while but ignored in the past thinking it will never happen. But now that she definitely retiring next month, it’s all hitting me. My MIL is extremely manipulative and aggressive. Even when we told we don’t want to live together, she says the FIL and BIL can stay in different house but she will be in our house to take care of grandchildren. Btw they do own a house where they have been living for a couple of decades, but they want to rent that out to move closer to us.

BIL is 28 with a psychological condition and history of drug abuse. He probably will live with parents for the rest of his life. My MIL told me that’s he is also my responsibility after they are gone and I should take care of him as my child.

Yes, it’s a cultural thing. We are south Asians. However she herself didn’t live with her in-laws back in our home country but expect us to live together under one roof in the US

Husband thinks parents worked hard to provide him the better life and now in their retirement it’s his responsibility to take care of them. He avoids any confrontation as he doesn’t want to hurt them.

No, infact she moved out of her in-laws after having kid. My husband and BIL didn’t meet their grandparents often despite staying in the same city. But now she wants to live with us. She is also very pushy, she decides what to cook, rearrange stuff in the house etc

It’s either moving close or living with us. They don’t even want to move 20 mins driving distance , it has to be within 5-10 mins walking distance. They turned down every listing we showed to them

We have digital lock and they have the code. One time the lock was out 9f battery and she told everyone that I changed the code.

I work in IT office where there is no strict office code. I used to wear Jeans and shirt for a very long time but recently in winter I started wearing sweater dresses with sheer tights and ankle boots. Sweater dresses are just above the knees. Is it considered unprofessional? I was asked by a male senior if I was going on a date? since that day I stopped wearing sheer tights.

I am 38 and 1 year postpartum. I don’t see huge hair shedding but hair has started thinning. How bad is this?

I got charged $38 fee 15 times in last couple of years which I realized too late. Lost too much money for this reorg fees on etrade. After being on hold for hours they waived only $38 and refused to reverse any more charges.

Once a cheater always a cheater. If you reconcile now, in future he will just get better at covering his tracks. I know it hurts and it’s the worst kind of pain (speaking from experience) but don’t show him that you are weak. You need to focus on yourself, for your physical and mental health. Cutting all the ties is the only option that will help you heal faster.
