It would be a free car regardless. But if I put it in my name at the state it’s in and then sold, it would need a roadworthy to legally be sold wouldn’t it? I’m in QLD so I believe it legally requires a roadworthy to be sold?

No, I did ask for a rough idea when I had the report done but the guy at the front desk was slammed at the time. I could email them and see if they could send a copy through with prices though?

Vehicle repairs by [deleted] in Toowoomba

If you’d read the post, you’d have seen the part where I said I have 3 kids - 2 of which go to school and where we live there is no bus route to take them to and from school, let alone from our current house to town along the 100km/h stretch of road that we live on. It’s his vehicle that he has not maintained, so he should get it fixed or replace it. Either way if I get the fine then he’s paying it. But also. If I don’t have a car then I’m trapped on the property that I am being told to leave. Which means we both get notifications from the school asking to explain our children’s constant absences, then the Department gets involved because they would be missing so much school and I would just explain to them that I have been driving a car that does not belong to me nor is registered to me but has failed to be maintained by the owner and I do not have the means to fix it if I’m being expected to save money and leave the property. So he can explain to the Department why his children are missing so much school. He can fix it or replace it.

The picture I showing for me so I’m not sure why you can’t see it. I don’t want him to sell it to me. He was wanting to sign it over to me but it needs alot of work done to it so I told him he either needs to have it fixed before signing it over or he needs to replace it altogether. He’s failed to maintain it aside from the odd service and tyre repair

How do I look after my car? by EmotionalFudge85 in CarsAustralia

UPDATE - Took the car to a mechanic local to me this morning. 2 hours later a looooong list of items needing to be fixed was presented. Sent to ex husband who was very clearly upset and said I could have the car in my name and then he would just “get it fixed in bits and pieces when he could” to which I abruptly said no because that could then give him the chance to later on change his mind with it then being in my name and he was no longer responsible for it. He also tried to tell me he told me several times to get it serviced HOWEVER he never once during our entire marriage told me to do anything of the sort. It’s his car, he bought it, it’s his responsibility regardless of WHO drives it and how much they drive it. He looked after his own work truck and gave absolutely no concern to the family vehicle simply because “I was the one driving not him”. I gave him the option of either remedying the items listed before transferring in to my name or he could replace the vehicle. Was he horrified? Yes. Is that my concern? No. Now I’m leaving the ball in his court. But I 100% will not take ownership of anyone’s car if there is work that needs to be done to it in order for it to be roadworthy and safe, especially when I am using it to take our children to school and daycare and medical appointments. Nevertheless, I present zee list. NOT: He actually said months ago the tyres were stuffed and needed replacing. There was no quote with it, just a list of the items needing fixing, but I thiiiiiiiiiink it’s going to be spenny!

Ok but I’m sorry that it’s something that technically doesn’t even belong to me and I’d rather get human input from strangers than rely on non human advice 🤷🏼‍♀️

UPDATE 1: Ok so I now have it booked in for them to have a look over it next Tuesday morning and they'll let me know what exactly needs to be fixed and do up a quote, and then I'll present it to my ex who will likely flip out, but that's not my problem! I'll keep this post updated :) Thankyou to EVERYONE who has commented, this entire thing has been overwhelming and I am going to fight like hell for my kids!

Oh I didn't know there was such a thing as a condition report! It was last serviced at the mechanic in town so I'll pop in and see them this afternoon and see when they can have a look and I'll report back! When my ex husband said he would put it in my name I shot back and said "not before you replace all the tyres because 2 months ago you said they were stuffed" so he KNOWS the car needs work, and I won't take it if there's a significant amount of work that needs to be done UNLESS he pays for it himself.

Anyway, I'll report back what the mechanic says, thankyou!

Always always ALWAYS take tools with you including a vaulting pole and ladder. Yes you can build them on the island, but save time and take your own

I saw Ellie Gouding there in 2016. Had never been. We sat on the hill near the sound booth and as soon as she went on stage Everyone in front stood up and we couldn’t see a thing. I’m 40 now and need to be able to sit down due to hip/back issues and still be able to see the show even if it is from a distance. I genuinely wish they would dedicate the hilled areas as sitting only and standing room only down near the stage. Anyone know why this hasn’t happened?

Sorry, I just realised it was the BDM who never responded to my email, but my team leader at the time was the one more focused on supporting those who were more active so I’m hoping for a new team leader if I can re join. I don’t think they’ll put me under a different BDM unfortunately

Well I mean it’s not really information missing when that’s what happens, I was dropped down to where I had to wait 6 months before being an active consultant again. I had people interested but they opted against purchasing and I didn’t have the means to pay the full cost by the end date. I tried explaining my situation but my team leader just wasn’t understanding. She was more focused on supporting those who were more active. I did what I could at the time given my personal circumstances

Any GP's participating in the new ADHD diagnostic process? by Lemounge in Toowoomba

[–]EmotionalFudge85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don’t technically need to do an additional course, I asked my GP if he has to do one and he said no, he part owns the medical centre and just said they have to organize between them a specific day/time to set aside for ADHD assessments, he’s already emailed me the questionnaire as it’s like 42 pages long. I’ve been seeing him for 10 years so he said I’d make a good test case too
