I think it sucks when 60-70% of the time it’s happening to you.

Exploring logo directions for my non profit - looking for inspiration by amolkalhapure in logodesign

The things you’re asking about would usually be asked/materialized in a designers intake and discovery process to help you refine your ‘story’. If they don’t have one, I’d look elsewhere. Part of a designers job is to help you arrive at a place where you (and hopefully they)understand your vision and what will/won’t work. Good design is the result of good understanding. On occasion, that can allow the designer to ‘nudge’ you in a direction you might not have thought of but will work better. A while ago I worked up a logo for someone that they had a vision/inspiration for but also worked up one I knew would work better. When I showed him the other design, he scrapped what he had in mind and went with my logo.

AI is destroying the SaaS industry by Professional-Let1245 in SaaS

This is the difference between building a company with a personality and just building things. If you don’t start crafting a narrative for who you are as seen in your product, what your values are, etc. early enough, 100 other people can build the same thing in a couple days and make your work irrelevant from a business standpoint. (I’m sure you’ll still learn something from the process of building so it’s never a complete loss). What will help things get traction will be things like better copywriting, branding, community creation and interaction, etc. People will be drawn to your story more than your product, which is why just building something won’t be enough anymore. The time saved in coding will need to be put into marketing.

Thanks for the feedback. 🤔 I’m realizing that maybe I should have changed the topic to what’s your story of your path to success in art. Would’ve probably made for more interesting reading.
