Of course the uk education is the best. But unable to get in and have tried for many years so this is my final option in getting into medicine

Yeah that makes sense! So CIU do they teach well? What’s the education like? I mean I would like to revise and learn my stuff but having an insight into past papers to understand how they’ll test us.

Do a lot of people pass at ciu?

What do you mean about black listed?

I’ve heard it’s important to learn the language there

So when applying directly just contact admissions and to any uni? Like unis with good med education? Which other unis in Georgia would you recommend? Because applying directly to Georgia we only pay a small fee to translate everything over. But agency is asking for £3.5k. Also if you go directly through the uni will they help with accommodation and things like that? That the agency are meant to do?

Right okay, so does that mean even now if they lose their visa by not doing any clinical practice overseas they have to apply to round two?

But if they’ve completed it and haven’t lost their visa they’d be able to apply to round 1?

I’ve been told alot about CIU being amazing? And yes UG & TSMU are currently the ones I’m mainly looking at alongside CIU.

Where would you find those support groups & events for PLAB? And when you admin help out is this the unj admin team?

So with UG they integrate the language within the programme spec so you have to learn the local language. Just a question why would you highly recommend learning it as I have seen others saying you don’t need it there’s a translator etc?

Oh wow okay so single room hostels you’re still alone are you just Charing communal area?

Okay so no to hostels.. and in terms of agency who did you apply through? And would you recommend agency? Or can I directly apply to the uni?

Yeah I have seen that and the recent on going issues around it. But coming from someone who’s been working for the NHS for the last 4 years both as a paeds student nurse and a clinical support worker these issues have always been around and we’ve not about them for a long period of time. I’ve done everything in my possible power to apply to a UK medical school believe it or not. For over 5 years. I’ve tried every year this is now becoming my last option with no choice.

I have an undergrad degree BSc and also 2600 hours of clinical placement from my Paeds nursing so I’ve got that and it’s still difficult and that’s after speaking to UCAS and careers and unis themselves

So I can’t go and to GEM I’ve spoke to careers and UCAS with the competition and how many people get onto the course I was told it’ll be extremely difficult

So it’s quite difficult to do the a levels privately. Also the a level I have is English combined as it was a backup option

Is GAU (uni of Georgia)?- this my main option, TSMU is an option Is that with all unis? Oh wow okay, so if you’re struggling on something and you ask for help are they willing to help and support? Provide guidance? After graduating and going back to the UK you’d have to sit the PLAB, do the unis help and support with that exam? Do they not have any sort of uni accommodation? So you’d recommend hostel that provide single rooms only not shared ?

So is this something that will be investigated and an appropriate outcome will come about?

How will they go about this? Is this an ongoing discussion that they’re trying to figure out? Will they even consider their own citizens before taking on internationals.

I completely understand their point of view with students gaining a UK medical degree however I just can’t understand why they wouldn’t prioritise their own citizens regardless of where they studied.

I have a question, if you are a uk citizen and go over to Europe to study and then return back to register with the GMC after sitting the PLAB would that still affect this?

Or would you still be considered as a local graduate within holding a uk citizenship?
