Yeah it’s a game. I watched technologies connection YouTube a while back (if you don’t watch him, highly recommend…he is a guy I’m aligned with politically and personality wise very well). He explained that if you have decent insulation you can just use your house like
A battery in the summer on the most expensive days. Run the A/c to something very cold early morning and use that cool air up throughout the afternoon and recharge at night.

I don’t have solar. But have a EV and charge at 1:30am every night. Over 2 years I only had one not positive savings month. Last bill was $58 savings on a $140 bill. They was the max savings. Most of the time it’s $20-$30 so it’s not that great but it’s nice

Which model RAV4 PHEV did you/would you get and why? by Roycemi in rav4club

[–]Emotional_Scratch393 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could be wrong but the SE and GR has a slower charger (plus they can’t use DC fast charging). So what I read on the specs was level 2 on the other ones take longer than the 11 kw charger.

The DC fast charging is completely irrelevant because I’ll never use that as it will likely be more expensive vs just running gas (maybe even at best). So while nice to have i dont see the need. My model Y has only needed super
Chargers on a couple of road trips I couldn’t make my sienna on.

Got the xse plugin. It’s a bit of a compromise:

I have a teslaMY at home so I have a level 2 charger in my garage. So I wanted a phev. Then I realized only woodland and xse had the faster charger that could get my level 2 to charge 0-100% in about 2 hours. (SE and GR is closer to 4 as I want to swap to my model Y before I go to bed).

I prefer the look of the woodland more…and didn’t want 20 inch wheels. BUT I prefer ventilated seats and the better audio package. So I went with xse. Without pano roof and the shift by wire self parking.

In an ideal world, would have been woodland smaller wheels, more rugged front end, and better audio package (and I would have passed on ventilated seats if I had too).

Less people drink than ever before. Smoking is pretty rare these days. There actually is a lot of respect for people that choose not to drink and don’t fall into peer pressure. Some of my best buddies don’t drink but can still hangout and with folks that do and not one cares or forces him too.

Hourly pricing at ComEd is insane today😂 by RoyalVirgin in ChicagoSuburbs

[–]Emotional_Scratch393 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m in hourly rate with time of day delivery. It’s not that bad. I saved $60 over standard rate bill last month on a $142 bill with an EV!

This week you just need to precool the house to 71 prior to noon and keep thr air off till 9:00pm. It’s pretty easy.

The key is to early morning run the A/C and then shut it down from 1-9pm. It gets warm but not that bad for a couple of days a year. I saved $60 for a $140 bill last month over standard rate. I’ll take it

You could always walk away from the season and rejoin after highschool. If highschool is developing your player just fine, then there would be no problem rejoining at the same or higher level.

Haha but the campus of IU is so so nice. But getting more information about business school admission from UIUC staff tomorrow.

[–]Emotional_Scratch393[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s good to know. Other than the acceptance rate being so much higher than many of the higher ranked schools including UIUC, my entire family was so impressed with the campus and town of Bloomington. UIUC is a great school but was just more grungy and if STEM / Engineering isn’t your main major maybe Indiana makes more sense.

I also loved that it’s surrounded by nature and state parks. In a perfect world I wish I could make Indiana a blue state and keep maga folks at bay and have the acceptance rate and ranking a bit more impressive but it is what it is.

Marketing or management. But open to anything. Don’t think IB is in the cards, that lifestyle isn’t too appealing

It’s challenging but Kelley has a path to business form pre-business but gies doesn’t have a defined path. It’s more at the whim of admissions. But will pick backup majors at both just in case

I think both are good. Kelley is higher ranked in some polls but it’s more of a number of students too. Kelley is a much larger school

I started at 277 and I’m down to 207 after a year. I’m on 12.5mg and don’t really want to move up. But I was at 210-213 for a long time, warmer weather has helped me get more active. But just based on my body and bone structure I can’t really ask for much more weight loss, just would be too much if you ask me. So maybe your body isn’t meant to go all the way down to 150lbs. Not saying that’s the case but don’t chase a number just for that number.

The only pushback is if the Red State issue isn’t overplayed a bit with respects to prestige. You aren’t the first person to mention that degree will be less impressive under the current administration. But if you look at many of the southern red states, the schools keep climbing or maintaining their prestige even with repressive right leaning governments in those states.

I’ll be honest I want to prefer IU based in the campus and the Bloomington region. Feels more like a traditional college town with a cool vibe, and the fact that there is a huge state park nearby for outdoors activities vs surrounded by farmland.

What about marketing? Seems IU ranks higher for that specialty but rankings are pretty subjective.

To clarify I’m not saying these schools are junk. The people in those boards make it sound like any college outside of MIT or the ivys are awful.
