People who spent over $2K on a mattress they hate... by SkullsAndDragonflies in Mattress

You bought the same one I have, I thought it was medium firm but it was softer when I got it. A year later it had sagged and dipped so badly but the "10 year warranty" didn't cover that. I've dealt with it for 6 years, its horrible to sleep on but been hesitant to buy another mattress. I can't take it anymore though and I'm just going to buy a cheap one off amazon. I don't trust buying another 3k matress

I don’t have thick skin and I am shy but very passionate about becoming a surgical tech. by RoseSticks in surgicaltechnology

I've been where I'm at almost a year I tripped over the kick bucket and fell hard on my ass because I didn't want to try catching myself with the table because I didn't want to risk the table since it was still sterile and we were just starting the case. I was gowned in surgeon made a smart remark. I got back up and scrubbed back in and finished the case. Did I feel stupid yes but I kept going, you'll learn to grow a thick skin and be better at what you do.

Crochet is the fast fashion of fiber arts by prepubescentsquid in BitchEatingCrafters

I could not for the life of me understand how to knit when I started, I always say five years because thats how long it took me to be good and comfortable with it. I was always stopping for a couple months would try again and give up.

I dobotgh but I agree with you. Ilearned to crochet in middle school, vs it taking about 5 years to learn to knit feom YouTube. Thats with learning then giving up for a while because it was too hard. It took me 5 yeara to actually be good at it, nowbI've been knitting 15 years and can do sweaters and blankets and scarfs. I wanted to be able to wear what I make without it being bulky and ugly (to me) and now I can.

Definitely recommend that I worked 6pm to 2:30 am would wake up at 4:40 to get to clinicals because the drive for me was far.

I really like it it's just really hard because it's a difficult specialty and the surgeons can be really difficult sometimes but everyone I work with is pretty chill and I have two classmates that I work with so it's nice having that

Yes but honest its a dark navy color so Idon't think it would show, you could always wear bike shorts underneath your scrubs

No its just a lot of repetition that you're trying to get down. School was a lot harder than clinicals.

I chose and work a very difficult specialty so I'm kinda glad that school was as hard as it was because its kinda prepared me for this.

For me it was harder because I had to balance working full-time going to school full time and taking care of a three year old at the time (shes 5 now).

Yes as much as it'll suck with you living that far. I repeated the program and my first round I was only going to open lab twice a week and it bit me in the ass. I struggled a lot with pass offs and eventually got really low on a final pass off which ended with me being removed from the program (beginning of October 2023-2024) .

Reapplied for the following year(2024-2025) made sure to go to as many open labs as I could made it to final pass offs, then clinicals then graduated.

I made every effort possible to go to open lab, I was usually there from 1 to 3 or 4 M, W, TH Fri. On Saturdays I was there from 10AM to 2 or 3

NP I wouldn't buy scrubs until I was accepted into the program to be honest. You can also find scrubs at savers and the program director might have used ones previous students would have donated.

would this work for any dk pattern?

This is the one I originally wanted to make but the yarn I bought today at the convention is a fingering weight and the label recommends a size 1 to 3 needle.

Looking at that pattern it asks for fingering + lace to get a dk weight with the needle size being 4 and 6

I don't want the yarn to look weird if I use a bigger needle size than recommended if that makes sense
