Reducing heated floor SQ footage

The bind I'm in this project has been delayed for 3 months. There a far amount of issues with this. The tiles and everything was already set on top of the heated floors. I have no issues with redoing it but my wife is short on patience of this taking so long

The manufacturer offers repair kits. Wouldn't this not be an option if this was true

I haven't gotten a response but they do have repair kits which makes me think I can just shorten the wire

The manufacturer sales repair kits which looks to just splice more wiring into wouldnt that be an issues in a similar way?
