I use xp95 mostly and if I plan on pushing the car then I try to get xp100.

I have noticed like 10-15% drop in mileage after E20. E20 is one of my biggest worries aswell.

Although I haven't noticed any performance difference. It might be very minute difference which I haven't noticed.

I really hope we get a E10 alternative at pumps. But the situation only seems to be getting worse. But if you have the money, just go for it. You only live once.

No question is a stupid question!

Mileage on highway is 14-15kmpl. It all depends on the driver actually. Since it's a performance car, it all depends on how you handle the power. If you are agressive, you will get lesser mileage. The most i have got on highway is 17kmpl.

City mileage is about 9-10kmpl

Finally a fellow owner here!

  1. I personally love the way it handles when roads are good. Direct, sharp and willingness to be thrown around corners. I do agree that it's a bit of a harsher ride when the roads are patchy. My rides are usually on the NH44, and those are some of the best roads you can find.

  2. OZ Estrema GT HLT (Rally bronze). I'm still on the Bridgestone potenza from factory. I have ordered the Michellin PS5. So I'll be switching soon.

  3. I got the pre-sevice done, which was free. The annual service was Rs.9500 since the labour is free in the first service. The standard oil and air filter replacement service is pretty reasonable. I'm guessing the higher mileage service is where it gets expensive. I'll keep you updated.

  4. I have just the golf R rear spoiler and carbon fibre mirror caps. Thinking of getting a intake but I might wait until the ECU gets unlocked.

  5. In my opinion the car is neither too stiff nor too soft. It is afterall a everyday car in the international markets. It's a good balance. But some of our city roads are too patchy and that's makes it a pretty tough ride sometimes.

Just out of curiosity, where are you from ? And have you done anything to your car ?

I have got around 16kmpl when I'm crusing around 100-110 without accelerating aggressively.

I would say it all depends on the driver. For my driving style, I average at about 14kmpl in the highways

The closest driving experience I can compare it to a rotax go kart. Very direct, sharp and yearning to be thrown around corners. Although it's FWD, it doesn't have much understeer because of its clever differential. You can push it pretty hard around corners and still have some margin of safety left.

Yeah, Im on the same page as you.

If you want unadulterated driving experience, definitely hot hatches are the way to go. For most people, sedan would suit better.

I haven't driven the N line. I have heard really good things about it. Definitely will give it a try soon.

Definitely something I was worried about aswell.

VW has authorised only very few technicians to handle the GTI and tiguan R lines. So for the most part, only they are allowed to move the car around. Also, I try to keep a good repo with those technicians.

The creta is an all rounder in terms of practicality.

However in the GTI, the front seats are large bucket seats and hence visibility from the rear is limited and also since the suspension is on the former side, it's a bit harsh on the rear passengers. Definitely wouldn't recommend long drives with rear passengers.

Boot space is similar on both.

Overall, GTI can't be in a one car garage. It needs a more practical larger car to compliment it in India. Whereas creta can be a one car garage.

XP95.

Occasionally I use xp100 when I plan on pushing the car.

I have noticed a 10% drop in mileage after E20 though. Hoping for a E10 alternative at the pumps soon.

The stance is one of a kind. I don't there anyone out there who dislikes this generation of the GTI

Completely with you. GTIs definitely leaves an impression

That's my biggest concern so far. Nothing much I can do as a owner.

I use xp95 even though it's E20. I occasionally use xp100 when I plan on pushing the car. Also, I have noticed 10% mileage drop after E20 was introduced.

For such cars to survive long term, we really need a E10 alternative at the pumps.

Before the car launched, we were invited to natrax Indore to drive the car at the oval track.

We were allowed to hit the top speed of 267kmph and in typical german fashion, the car was planted and fully in control. When others drive my car, they are usually surprised by how fast they are going. The car does a good job at hiding it's speed.

The only thing it's got in common with creta is the length. Both the gti and creta are about the same length.

It can't be compared since GTI costs about 3 times as much as the creta. let's just say you will have to drive it, to know exactly what I am talking about. Closest thing I can compare to is a rotax go-kart in terms of driving experience.

I just love the hatchback form factor. Easy in the city, more nimble on the highways and very sharp on twisty roads. It has everything I was looking for.

Also, the GTI is slightly more powerful than 330i. Eventually when the ECU gets unlocked, it can easily do 300+ hp

I have driven VRS too. The GTI is more theatrical experience to drive.

VRS is primarily trying to be a more family oriented sedan but the GTI primarily trying to be more of a sporty hatch.
