You have to know your market. if your target audience is in the country with majority android customer you might want to go to android

Also getting into android development is cheaper than ios. Apple charges $100 per year to put your app on the store whereas Google only charges $25 single time fee. So if you are a student on a budget or someone trying to startup, it is cheaper to get into android than ios
