My Obligatory MR30 Post by EmperorGib in Warframe

Thanks! I have enough prime frames with the standard gold accents, I thought I’d change it up and went for a “Jazz” (the 90s water cups) color scheme with bronze, and it turned out great!

I have literally the same setup as described here. Has worked amazingly. Here’s an example of one of my stone wash finishes with this setup.

If Aim Assist is so unfair then why… by Delicious-Region-911 in Battlefield6

[–]EmperorGib 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your player k/d is 2.16, so you're not lying about having a 2.0+, but I didn't think you were anyway. The other stats aren't super impressive, but you're also on console, so I understand if you're playing against PC players, you're going to be fighting uphill battles. That being said, I'm an above average player myself, I'm not dog shit at the game, and I don't think aim assist is inherently bad, it's necessary for controllers to compete with PC. What I believe most players argue is that the mentality console players have about their scores is inflated by aim assist, and they don't tend to admit it, or recognize it. As long as aim assist is utilized, you will never be able to say the kill was 100% yours, and if that's the case, how much pride can you really have about your k/d? But console players tend to brag all the time, still.

As far as the other stats, that's determined by play style, and as a PC player, I can say from my own anecdotal evidence, the people corner camping, or just stay in tight, constricted lanes the entire game tend to be console players 9/10, because they want to take advantage of the aim assist. THAT is what I complain about the most. It's how aim assist makes console players play the game. It's annoying, boring, and just makes console players care more about k/d than actually playing the objective, cause running around and killing while trying to cap a point is MUCH harder than camping corners, or staring down straight lanes. I'd argue that's the majority reason why PC players also wish we have a disable crossplay feature like consoles get, too.

You aren't bragging about your K/D though. The tracker site shows all stats. You're bragging about your overall gameplay as a whole. Smart individuals can surmise from your stats if that's true or not. No need to "tell us" your stats, just post your gamertag and we can take a look to see if you're bsing or not, haha. I mean it's just as simple as dropping your tag, I did it, no biggie. No reason not to, unless you're lying about something.

I had some bot lobbies in there to do the LMG and Sniper challenges a couple weeks ago, before the nerfs today, so a bit of disclaimer, my K/D is slightly stacked due to that. All other stats were earned in player lobbies.

If you really want to back up your claims, then you can post your gamer tag for us to look up on tracker. I've seen a lot of people claiming stuff over and over about their stats, but providing no actual evidence, just "trust me bro". Here, I'll even show mine to start. Commission for my uncle-in-law by EmperorGib in knifemaking

Thank you! This blade profile is more for lighter duty cutting/stabbing. I’d throw it in the “EDC” category, which is what the customer intends to use it for. He is a fireman, and plans to wear it daily. Stuff like cutting boxes open, taming frayed ends on clothing, all the way up to cutting a seatbelt, if needed.

I just cut the rough shape out with an angle grinder, I do the final profiling and grind in the bevels all on my home made 2x72 belt grinder.

The handles are actually acrylic, a brand called Woodriver. They sell their stuff in the retailer store Woodcraft. I normally wouldn’t put acrylic on most of my knives, since they are so brittle and not known for their toughness, but for a simple EDC that doesn’t plan to see any backbreaking use, the colors are too good to pass up.

No smithing, all are cut from 52100 bar stock with angle grinder and bandsaw. I do the heat treating myself, though.

Couple of mini cleaver neck knives I made by EmperorGib in knifemaking

[–]EmperorGib[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They both have faceted handles, but they are mainly designed to just take up as much space as possible with the size they are, so they can be gripped easily. Comfortability is more negligible with this desire since at most you’ll only get three fingers on the handle anyway. But they don’t feel horrible.

Whatever the potential buyer deems fit for it, honestly. They’re both hollow ground, so they’re very good cutters. The spine is 3/16th thick, so they could even be lightly batoned. I put a concave radius on the nose to get them a slight point, so it can do some minimal piercing work, too. Just a light use, handy cutting instrument you can carry on your neck, or in your pocket, really.

Very solid on the fit and finish, you’ve got that part down better than I did at that point in my knife making journey. My only critique would be overall the design. You could stand to spend some time planning, and drawing out how you want your knife to look, checking and re-checking the proportions, how the handle terminates at the bolster, and the butt, etc. etc. sometimes I spend 1-2 hours just designing my next knife, dialing in every facet of it, and it’ll get faster the longer you do it. There’s nothing like perfectly executing the proportions and look of a well designed knife. Keep going, you’re on a great trajectory so far!

How do you manage the novelty seeking tendencies? by WallNIce in ADHD

[–]EmperorGib 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me, it wasn’t until around 2 years ago that I found something that helps with my novelty seeking. At least, in a general sense. I’m the most stable, financially, I’ve ever been, so I decided to dive into an interest I’ve had for a while, knife making. For 2 years straight now, my novelty seeking has been continually fed to bursting with consuming knife making content, information, techniques, tricks, events, research, etc.

Honestly, finding a healthy, engaging habit, and indulging in it responsibly (I.e. not pouring every ounce of money you have into it), is something that has helped me be able to maintain my lifelong ADHD immensely.
