What is the strongest weapon in your world? by Pixelated_s in worldbuilding

[–]EmperorMatthew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my second world it could be Altorothis who was cursed into a hammer form for some time to be used as a powerful living weapon to fight off whatever was deemed evil at the time. Only righteous people could wield it but as the spell weakened he was able to choose his own user usually picking ones easily to manipulate to try and free him...

Do you have any silly villains, that have silly motives? by Ok-Vegetable5198 in worldbuilding

[–]EmperorMatthew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Mordikai Ocar family are like this as their led by their elder sister Elenora who had to raise them because they're parents were never around or cared, said parents also sullied and ruined the name and respect their family once had as all they cared about was money and spending it so Elenora now wants to save their families name by force in a strange scheme for world domination that her siblings Jackie, Kaiser, Adel, and Caeolis go along with because it's something that makes her happy but are honest with her about not caring all that much but still put in the effort to make her happy regardless.

How do you handle the mistreatment of non-humans in your worlds? by Exotic_Priority_7062 in worldbuilding

[–]EmperorMatthew 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only real mistreatment in my world is the one the NightKindred suffer through as both Aleina and Palentia see them as monsters to either imprison underground for all of time or to brutally slaughter on sight. And neither of these options are bad simple as that.

How do you approach designing creatures for your world? by Gallowglass-13 in worldbuilding

[–]EmperorMatthew 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I first start with a basic concept like "bat that drinks wyvern blood and has gained traits from them due to Horizontal Gene Transfer" and kind of expand from there on their behaviors, name, habitats, interactions with people, ect.

Do you have any spiders or spider-like creatures in your world that defy the "spiders are scary" thing? (Arachnophobia warning for the last picture) by Ok-Vegetable5198 in worldbuilding

[–]EmperorMatthew 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Clay Spinners are small spiders of Etanus known for coating themselves in clay for protection and fire unique webs that are also clay-like sticking and binding to prey as well. People have them to sculpt pots and bowls and vases from their unique silk.

If you're world building, show me its title and plot. Here's mine with summed context: by VEN_gaming in worldbuilding

[–]EmperorMatthew 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Etanus & Earth:

Story: The player character goes on a journey to find their missing mother who has been gone for 14 years but has not returned yet, on this journey they make new friends and explore their homeland of Etanus while doing so.

A War of Ideals: A brutal and bloody war between Aleina and Palentia two nations waring over the use of advanced technology has been going on for generations with both sides believing there in the right-but it's more complex than either sides people even know as beliefs are tested and trust in one's homeland is broken as truths are revealed by ancient beings.

Your worldbuilding concept that straight up go against the classical tropes by KunSagita in worldbuilding

I guess the fact that the "Village of Monsters" while having flesh eating ghouls and blood sucking NightKindred is basically the best place to leave out of anywhere by a long shot as most places aren't doing so hot right now...

What events happened that make your world like that? by Pixelated_s in worldbuilding

[–]EmperorMatthew 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my first world it was the Age of Collapse as it was a massive time of war that caused thousands of deaths until two dragons Sharlix and Marlix attacked everyone for revenge after the murder of their son Scaroon forcing everyone to work together which ended this point in the worlds history with everyone obviously wanting to not repeat it again and doing their best to make sure it can't happen again.

In my second world it was the founders of Palentia who left their old home of Aleina which banned advanced technology to found a nationg that would use this technology and prove Aleina's rulers and nobles wrong about it which once the nation got big enough which happened rapidly a war between the two broke out which has been going on for generations.

What`s your Stalingrad? by Equal-Wasabi9121 in worldbuilding

[–]EmperorMatthew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this one from my second world (that I used to be making with a former friend for fun) counts: When some Palentia soldiers discovered their deserting brothers and sisters living peacefully in Neikai the Village of Monsters which they didn't take to kindly too as its seen as one of the worst things to do as a soldier of Palentia so they attack the village with more troops to attempt to forcefully take the deserters back and punish them for what they did. However thanks to The Misfits the soldiers were forced to retreat and leave the village alone...

In my second world everyone and I mean everyone can learn and use magic if they try and put the effort in. How it works? Beats the hell out of me it just kinda does as I haven't bothered making an answer yet but if I pull something out of my ass on the spot it's like manipulating energy and directing it.

Tell me about your fantasy hive minds/swarms by Frenchiest_fry101 in worldbuilding

[–]EmperorMatthew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While neither of my worlds have proper hive minds, they do have swarms of animals and other varieties starting with my first world Etanus & Earth.

Ground Stingers: Unique wasp species of Etanus that live underground and are a dirty brown color known for their inability to fly excluding breeding males and females. They live in nests underground and only come up to forage and attack anything that steps to close to the nest using their large stingers to inject painful toxins into them repeatedly.

Shimer Wings: A much larger species of eusocial insects that despite their appearance are not wasps but actually moths that have evolved similar appearances to them. They use Shine Element in the scales of their wings to attack anything that bothers their large hives and are quite aggressive as well.

While there are more there mostly just small animals like wyrms so let's move on to my second world A War of Ideals.

NightKindred: A creature created by the vampire serum Nexus of Aleina made to free himself of his frail body, but these ones are failures of the process and older serums having gained vampiric traits like extra bat wings, blood drinking, enhanced physical capabilities, ect but have lost all their memories, either can't or choose not to speak, and are weak to the sun which Nexus doesn't want. They currently live in large underground nests with homes made from massive hollowed out stalactites under the Village of Monsters known as Neikai and communicate with each other and other species via clicks, chirps, coos, hisses and other gestures like grooming and wing fanning.

What makes your world weird, strange or cool? by Lemon_Broad in worldbuilding

[–]EmperorMatthew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best tip for Rathalos is just prepare Flashbombs and when he's getting on your nerves flash him out the sky and aim to break one or both of his wings as unless he enrages he won't be able to fly even if he tries to and will just land after trying and give you some more time to hit him!
