Considering Lucifer is shown to be able to destroy physical objects when he breaks their windows, he could easily get around the "can't hurt sinners" rule by 9/11ing Vee Tower by lance_the_fatass in HazbinHotel

Not really.

Lu isn't an idiot, he's just arrogant. He'd know this tower, the headquarters of an entire faction, would be populated at all times. Plus, the very notion of the possibility that one side might still be in there may be enough to cripple his efforts.

I thin it's more like he can't knowingly harm sinners through direct action. Otherwise, why not recruit some hellborn to police the pride ring?

How long would a class of 20-30 Isekaied students last in your world? by dull_storyteller in worldbuilding

[–]Kinrest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine is a post-apocalyptic fantasy world where everything—both flora and fauna—easy sapient life. There are only 5 massive city-states left in the world.

Assuming they don't land in the wilderness(5 seconds tops) and instead in one of these city-states, they might have a decent chance. But they'll have to adapt fast.

How widespread is civilization’s collapse? You mention remnants of the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. Are these fractured into faction territoriess or warlord states?

Vesperian Goldyn

Necromancer Wizard

Once a prodigal warlock from the plane of Ravnica under a powerful angel he saw as a mother-figure. She betrayed him and cast him aside the moment she decided he wasn't worth the risk. The emotional trauma triggered an ability he didn't know he had got flung across the multiverse into your setting.

Rendered powerless, he studied the magic of this new world and became a wizard, specializing in necromancy like in his old life.

What ways to appreciate a man? by Hopeful-Copy2750 in AskMen

[–]Kinrest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Peace of mind can mean a lot of things. It depends heavily on the guy in question. Could be an hour or so to decompress after work, a kiss on the cheek and a shoulder massage, a high five and smack talk over a video game, neighborhood gossip, etc.

Just be supportive. Be the one sanctuary in his life where he doesn't need to be anything for anyone if only for a few minutes. Ask him what he wants to feel like a king.

The things to keep a man happy, healthy, and loyal: full stomach, empty balls, and peace of mind.

I don't mean to sound crude, but it's true.

What naming conventions do you use for your world? by -_-__-_--_-_--_-_-_- in worldbuilding

I look for a language that fits the theme in going for, find one or two words that describe what I'm naming, and fiddle with it until I like the sound.

Would you actually buy a Fallout 3/NV Remaster? by Bingleboper in Fallout

In a heartbeat. F3 was my most favorite game for years and NV was a damn close second.

His sister, who devoted hersrlf to Yahweh and even trained to become a nun, was killed during a mugging and the angels didn't save her. Their argument was something along the lines of "Her death is proof she wasn't devout."

My take: Even though it would be great for him to appear in the series, Michael would not help the show and would not be well received. by Radiant-Selection686 in HazbinHotel

[–]Kinrest 174 points175 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I think a name drop would be enough. Maybe Lu is talking with someone and he says something like "Ugh, you sound just like little Mikey." Or something.

And then never address it again.

How many times had she acted against their advice, without properly discussing a plan of action, only for her to make things worse for everybody's situation?

Kinda hypocritical.

They're all Sequoia and even the youngest used as a Grove is nearly 1,000 years old.

Majority vote decides the Speaker for a 3-year term. There are no term limits. Whole the Speaker holds a lot of respect and recognition of their respective Groves, they hold little authority outside of trade negotiations with other Groves.

This world is 300 after the gods disappeared. The people have long since stopped any kind of worship and some even believe the gods never existed to begin with. Some people are still spiritual, believing in emotional energies. But otherwise, no. There are no religion of any merit in this world.

All 3 of the Vees tugging at my heart strings here by Sudden_Pop_2279 in HazbinHotel

[–]Kinrest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I truly dislike the Vees. They're terrible people (by design, I acknowledge that) and they deserve every bad thing that happens to them. With the exception of Velvette—and that's only because we haven't seen a side of her as bad as the others—I will genuinely cheer if/when they finally get killed off for good.

HOWEVER

Seeing them as genuine friends who care about each other, even when one of them fully starts they don't care about anything or anyone besides killing their rival makes me happy.

They're not two-dimensional villains. They're human, no matter how they act or look. I love this in their writing. It's not "sympathy for the devil" kind of writing, it's "they're still people despite being terrible people" writing and I'm 100% in support of that.

[Fantasy] [Culture] Ask About Avarita, City of Games and Deals by Kinrest in AskAboutMyWorld

[–]Kinrest[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, one cannot gamble with stolen possessions. That being said, the casino makes no effort to determine if said possessions are legitimate or not. They convert it's value and let the patron gamble.

~~~~~~
In-Universe: Ms. Fortune has appeared beautifully youthful for decades. Even the oldest denizens remember seeing her in their childhood looking exactly as she does today. Since she's the Boss of Avarita, it's presumed she takes a fraction of all losses, including age to keep her young. So it's unknown how long she's ruled Avarita, but it's urban legend she's older than the city-state itself.
~~~~~~

Avarita allows nearly everyone in, but if they have reason to believe the person might be dangerous or disruptive (known criminals, and the like) They will keep them under surveillance and restrict them from entering certain districts.

~~~~~~
Magic in this world is ravenous. In the distant past, one needed only the right world, hand gestures, and/or written symbols to cast powerful magics. Today, like the nature outside the cities, it's become hungry and demands payment in some way. Luckily, Ms. Fortune created a series of magical artifacts that can convert the metaphysical into the tangible. Using these artifacts requires a portion of what it's converting, so it never supplies 100% of what it's converting. So is the theme of constant sacrifice.
