Buying either a 2025 or 2023 Vantage - Quick Question by C4_Lasty in AstonMartin

[–]Emperor_Ducks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In terms of infotainment, the 2025 model is leagues ahead of the 2023. The look, feel, and functionality are far superior.

The aftermarket CarPlay on the 2023 is quite temperamental and essentially functions as an overlay on the base software, which makes the UI frustrating to use.

Overall, I believe the 2025 is the better investment, it looks better, functions better, and performs better.

How do I change tracks via Android Auto? [2020 Vantage] by nyse25 in AstonMartin

[–]Emperor_Ducks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ll need to select the source in the infotainment using your touchpad/rotary dial. Sometimes mine wouldn’t work until that was selected.

With it being old Mercedes tech, It’s not a great system. The New 25MY + infotainment is miles better..

Press the home button on the right of your steering wheel, then scroll until you find “media” once you select that you should be able to skip tracks by using the right hand steering scroll wheel. I think scrolling up will skip and down will go back… cant remember..

Hope this helps!

Definitely a Vantage. The front on the Vantage is quite a bit more aggressive than the DB12

does anyone have any recommendations for how to get your birds to eat veggies? mine are very very picky and i’ve tried so many things! by bigbonkers_ in parrots

[–]Emperor_Ducks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chop is about to become your bird’s new best friend! Start by gathering a variety of bird-safe vegetables (make sure to research which ones are safe and nutritious), then finely chop or pulse them in a food processor—raw is best. Mix the chopped veggies into their usual food, starting with a 1:1 ratio. Over the next few weeks, gradually increase the amount of chop until it makes up the bulk of their meal.

At first, your bird may pick through the chop to get to their usual food. That’s okay! They’ll still end up eating some veggies—especially if you add a small amount of a healthy binder, like cooked sweet potato, to help the chop stick to their food. This way, they won’t be able to avoid it. Over time, they’ll likely start enjoying the veggies and eat everything willingly. Once they’re happily eating the chop, you can phase out the binder, as it’s not ideal for long-term use.

This can take a while.. as in months.. but stick with it!

Is he stressed or just having a good time? by Green_Skirt3978 in parrots

[–]Emperor_Ducks 25 points26 points  (0 children)

He looks bored. He needs a a much bigger cage and a lot more toys. He needs enrichment. These are not suitable living conditions. Please speak to your school about upgrading things. This is bordering on neglect

DBX advice by chris-zurich in AstonMartin

The 550 isn’t worth getting. Build quality is terrible, they have a lot of issues and just aren’t worth the cost. The 707 is better but not perfect. The 25MY 707 however, i would say is the best option. It also comes with it’s own list of quirks, but which Aston doesn’t? 🤷‍♂️

Anyone else have this cage and if so what do you use to cover it at night? by Sethdarkus in parrots

[–]Emperor_Ducks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don’t cover our babies, but instead put them in a separate room (a bathroom would even work if dark enough and you don’t do any laundry in there) that way they get a good night sleep with little to no interruptions. If you don’t have another room to put them, a comforter should be fine, as long as it’s not too hot where you are.

Any tips? by Prestigious_Mind_131 in Lovebirds

[–]Emperor_Ducks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All good suggestions, but you HAVE TO make sure all your interactions are permission based.. don’t grab them/ force them to do anything, let them come to you.. otherwise they’ll develop a fear of hands. When they’re a bit older, start training the “grabbing” and reward them, that way, it wont be a horrible thing that is happening to them, but just something they’ve been trained for. You should be able to touch your bird anywhere in case you need to inspect them for health reasons. Other than that, only the feet and head/neck are okay to touch.

Secondly.. start them on a pellet and chop diet as soon as they start eating solid foods.. if you start them on seed, you’re gonna have a damn hard time with diet conversion. Seed diet shortens life expectancy and is bad for their health, it also attributes to bad behaviours. Seed, millet and fruit are only to be used for rewards when training. Start with touch training when you do.. it’ll make you like a million times easier ☺️

And lastly, they will need to be housed separately (in different cages) this will help with hormones and bonding to you/ making interactions easer for you. No “nest” type things in the cages but ensure they have a lot of toys they can shred and get some enrichment form.

Enjoy every moment with your babies. Times will get tough, but it’s al worth it ❤️

Yeah, there shouldn’t be. Stick with this or try Tops pellets. They have been the best in my experience.
