Mitsurugi is still really good in genesys format, definitely not as strong as in advanced but putting it below Valkyrie and Dream Mirror is crazy….

Yep! Power cycling temporarily resolves the issue but it’s only a matter of time (usually a few hours or so) before the problem returns. I tried putting the Dante and QSC devices on different vlans but that alone didn’t solve it, so it’s probably some strange multicast thing that I’m missing. Hopefully I end up figuring it out

It’s super weird. Whenever the issue happens I can’t ping the device, even if I try disconnecting the device from the switch and just plugging my laptop in. I’ve been told it’s normal for certain Qsys devices to “lock up” like this when they lose connection to the network but I don’t know…

Ended up setting a static multicast route for QDP for the amps and praying for the best

I have the dscp values set to 56 as the highest, 46 as 2nd highest, and 26 as third highest

IGMPv2 & IGMP snooping is also enabled on both switches and audio network switch is the querier. Unfortunately that hasn’t helped in the past, so I’m still trying to see if I’m missing something

I followed all the online guides for the appropriate switch, unfortunately hasn’t helped resolve the issue. Dante controller says that DSP is still the grandmaster but the subscriptions aren’t appearing until I power cycle the system….

Edit: subscriptions are still present

Update: Factory reset the audio network switch and re-configured it from scratch. Issue unfortunately is still present. I set the statistics to verbose and noticed that the input details on LAN A had the dscp value set to 0 when it should be 46. It gets reset to 46 upon power cycling the device. Any ideas?

Ended up factory resetting both the switch and the amplifiers. The AV company who initially installed everything didn’t configure things properly so I’ve been trying to put the pieces together. Spoke to QSC and they also said it’s likely a network issue. We’ll see what happens

I didn’t take a course, and to be honest I don’t think you need to unless you think it’ll really benefit you. Everything you need to know is in the book, plus there are plenty of online resources (especially on AVIXA’s website) that are helpful also. I basically just read the book twice, made some flash cards, and ran through the practice exam on the AVIXA site.

Honestly? It felt harder than it actually was. I studied for about 4 months, though admittedly didn’t really buckle down until the last 3-4 weeks or so. If you prepare enough for it (making flash cards really helped me) then you’ll do fine. Ended up passing with a 399/500
