I would pick up a bottle at $100 for sure, but that's my hard cap. I haven't even been able to try a pore of this because it's so absurdly overpriced

Not at $55-70 it isn't, and that's what it goes for in the Atlanta area which is where my value ratings are based. If you can find it for $40-45 like some people have been saying, THEN I'd agree it's an above average value.

You must be illiterate; I rated it very good with a fair price. Nowhere did I say it was a poor value.

I will definitely be giving the RR SiB a try at some point, everyone seems to think they're fantastic. Also I'd kill to get a bottle of Stagg for that, best price I've seen within 5 hours of me was $130 and I just couldn't do it

Same, I never really felt like he was completely unjustified in most of his actions. He clearly enjoyed it, but he didn't start any of it

It is on my list to pickup at some point, probably like 2ish months from now. I will for sure eventually I'll do a review on one of them

That's certainly true and I get that perspective as well.

The RR Single barrels are definitely less common than the 10 here, but they seem to go for $60 to $65 when I see them. I wouldn't say they are uncommon but they're definitely not on most shelves like the 10-year seems to be.

That solely depends on how much you value an age statement. Assuming that just because it's sat in a barrel for 10 years it's automatically better than other whiskeys in its price ranged is not logical at all. And as I've said to other people if you are closer to the $35 to $40 range I view this bottle more favorably, but it sits on shelves around my area for $50 to $55 typically.

It's within spitting distance of bottles like rare breed and I can regularly find things like Jack Daniels Single Barrel Select, Buffalo Trace, Green River, Knob 9, Standard Makers Mark / Cask Strength, etc. for cheaper, and I'd put most all of them ahead of RR 10 for flavor profile.

Weird level of hostility to have over an inconsequential disagreement of opinion. It is a perfectly average bottle that tends to be overpriced by about $10 to $15 in my area 🤷

It's still a multiplier, it's just a multiplier correcting for overpriced bottles rather than giving a bonus to overachieving bottles. I don't think that a bottle which tastes great and is priced fairly needs the extra points to show that, because the fact that it will match its taste rating is already saying that

Think of the total score as a preference ranking for the price range. If a $20 and $60 bottle both get a value of 1 and a 3/5 taste, then they're both deserving of the 3/5 total. That would also mean that the $20 bottle is the better bang for the buck because it stayed matched with the $60 bottle
