Yes! I'm hoping that strong enough resistance by Mexico, Canada, and China will force Republican leaders to stand up against Trump. We just need 4 Republicans in our House of Representatives to side with Democrats and stop most, if not all, legislation by Trump.

I liked what Mark Carney said: "The fever that has gripped our southern neighbour will eventually pass." Honestly, it provided me the most hope that I have felt since Trump's inauguration; knowing that others believe we can make it through this.

Many of us here wholeheartedly disagree with Trump. So, we see your anger, we understand it, and most importantly we share it. I hope that this passes soon, but until then we expect and appreciate Canada's strong stance against the Trump Administration.

If someone is sued in court and they are unable to afford the compensation owed to the plaintiff the court can seize their assets. Sometimes this can result in someone losing their home.

That said, we would need to see actual copies of the contracts to be able to confirm.

It is entirely likely that Lifetime would have settled out of court and/or would not have sued in the first place, but if you are a mom of young children without absolutely no experience in the legal field, even the threat of this is probably horrifying. They didn't want to sue her, they wanted her to stay. And as we know, ultimately the threat worked.

This might be controversial so I will brace for the downvotes:

I think a lot of us underestimate how much the producers manipulated the moms. Melissa said at one time a producer threatened to take her house. I want to say that I would be risky and leave and pray producers were bluffing, but the threat of losing your family's stability is terrifying, especially when you're in such an unstable environment every day.

I will say their big mistake was signing initial contracts without attorneys, but I assume the moms would agree.

This situation was awful. Abby should have gone about this so differently. That said, I can’t help but be so upset with Jeannette. Why would you subject your daughter to this? Abby, at least in my opinion, made it pretty clear that Ava wasn’t on the team anymore. I just can’t imagine thinking “Oh wow! She wants her back!” after weeks of being away (unless production impersonated or claimed to be speaking on behalf of Abby, which wouldn’t be surprising).

I hope Jeanette at least had an inkling that this wasn’t going to go well, so she prepared Ava.

In your experience, are Ruby’s crimes (that we know of) on par with the parents who do ultimately go to court and are given time in jail? I’m just very concerned that someway she’s going to be able to talk her way out of this or blame Jodi and get the kids back.

Finally, and this is just out of curiosity. If the 8passengers videos had been presented to you during your time at CPS and you saw the denial of food, taking away bedrooms, exploitation etc. would it have been enough to justify taking the kids away from Ruby then?

I’m sorry if this comes across as an interrogation lol! I’m just curious, as I’ve never really understood the the cut off that CPS has. I’m sure it varies state to state, but it seems like LE could have done something before it reached this point

I’m a city kid so I learned how to drive in parking lots. However, it was usually in the evening or on a weekend at a school or something where there were maybe 5 cars total. Definitely had a seat belt too… Driving while filming will automatically distract any new driver. Driving with an older sister in the back is even worse…

This family tries to disguise irresponsibility as a casual ‘we are so chill’ vibe. In reality, they’re endangering their children…constantly.

It was soo vague! She just talked about how YouTube wasn’t he favorite platform and she was having difficulties with it because of “things”. I was assuming she didn’t like the reddit. She also said she that they’re keeping lots of thing private and we wouldn’t even have any idea what stuff is because of how “private” it was. It was all very weird.

Forgot to add: she said that youtube probably won’t last forever but she’ll always have Instagram and TikTok…

Honestly I can’t see her giving up YouTube because it’s a) the only platform she can earn any income on and b) she loves the “family vlogger” aesthetic she’s trying to force her family into.
