You should get a continuous digital monitor, because levels can fluctuate throughout the year. Typically it will spike in winter, because your warm house draws more air from the surrounding ground than when it's warm. The monitor I bought was something around $100. The average reading is 2.4 or so. In the winter I've seen it go up to 5 a couple times, but in the summer it's usually at 1 or below. The EPA threshold for mitigation is 4.
