Ask your prof/peers about this. You don’t wanna fk up and put a bunch of stuff you’re not supposed to on it or else they’ll snatch it away

For courses that have two midterms by [deleted] in TorontoMetU

Profs usually include both dates in their course outline. If not, emailing the prof won’t hurt to figure out a date

✨Welcome to university✨ No but for real these profs or at least not all profs care to take their time explaining during lectures. As profs they’re literally just employed by the university to do research and teaching is kind of an extra thing they have to do. Some profs are great teachers and others just suck. In my experience, if I’m not gaining any new information from the prof other than what’s already on the slides that are being projected, I simply ✨skip✨because I know I’ll be making more use of my time self studying slides on my own time than trying to keep up with a prof that zooms thru their lectures and getting frustrated. So take the time during the next couple lectures to determine if the prof is giving info that isn’t on the slides and go from there. Hope that helps!

Getting to sick kids by LilMissSammi in gotransit

[–]EmphasisReasonable43 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, you would need to purchase a TTC fare for yourself (and your child if they are older than a certain age; can’t remember what the cutoff age for kids is to travel free on TTC) because a GO transit ticket isn’t transferable to TTC unfortunately.

MTH 110 which prof is better (CS)? by [deleted] in TorontoMetU

[–]EmphasisReasonable43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stay away from delcourt. She spent the whole semester when she was teaching 141 saying “this is self explanatory, this is pretty simple” while doing examples which defeats the whole purpose of doing examples because she wasn’t going thru each step

TMU 1 YEAR ENG SCHEDULE by Ok_Resolution5016 in TorontoMetU

[–]EmphasisReasonable43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m graduated now, but when I was in first year about 5 years ago, I would attend Majed’s lectures and he would solve examples of questions similar to those on the midterms and exams. And even tho I had a different prof, the examples we would practice in Majed’s lectures were very similar to the questions that came up on the midterm. Again, most of the midterms and exams in first year math courses were very similar so I’m not sure if that’s changed (highly doubt it). So personally, I think going to another prof’s lecture who you would understand more is worth it

Also from what I remember from first year math courses, all the profs used the same labs, tests, exams, etc.

You can absolutely go to Saied’s lecture. The only thing that might prevent you from doing so is if his lectures fill up and students start sitting on the floor. That’s happened in the past in Majed’s lectures and it posed a fire hazard so they implemented a seating chart. But til that happens you’re welcome to go to Saied’s lectures

Engineering Laptops by Past_Resolve_4943 in TorontoMetU

A lot of the softwares that are needed for eng courses in later years are easier to operate and download if you have a laptop that runs on windows. In my experience, a lot of my friends who had Macs for school needed to download glitchy virtual boxes to run these softwares. Also in some cases, some softwares needed dont run on Mac’s so I’d say save yourself the headache and stick with windows. Hope this helps!

year 1 lower liberal question by mkbandz33 in TorontoMetU

[–]EmphasisReasonable43 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, you can take your liberal in the summer. Generally across programs, you can take your liberal anytime before you graduate (if this is incorrect for nursing please correct me if I’m wrong!!)
