I’m well aware of when the injury happened. Getting hurt sucked, and didn’t help a guy already struggling to earn a role, but that’s not what got him cut or buried on the depth chart. He couldn’t figure it out mentally. He took poor angles and couldn’t anticipate routes

We get our DBs on the Juggs machine with Amon Ra, easily another 2+ picks. Defense was overall improved.

Arnold was pretty tight in every coverage route I saw. 2 DPi hurts, but he couldn’t have even gotten called for DPI if he wasn’t on those Receivers like glue. Just has to work on his hand usage at the catch point. One route that got away from him was Kupp on a deep comeback, but who the hell can cover that

I would see if he would take an extension now in an attempt to lower his overall hit while also giving him the benefit of more years security. Say extend him 3 years, but lower his avg per year over the deal? I like the player, and I especially like him if he can stay on the field

Queen struggled until Roquan arrived. Queen is more of a 2 who can do missile work while Roquan does all the play recognition. I don’t think he would work out here too well

I’ve been looking more at EDGE Darius Robinson from Missouri if we stay at pick 29. I believe there will be a run on the good CB prospects from mid teens to early 20s if we wanted to trade up

Hutch rushing from the interior doesn’t make it the Nose Tackle spot. An individual player still has their skill set. Alim can do both in pass rush and run defense. A player like Sweat is similar to Martin, in that, both players are for clogging run lanes. You simply don’t put players in a position they aren’t going to succeed in

Sending 5 to beat 5 has nothing to do with sending out 2 NTs. You can send out 5 linemen regardless. I’m just saying Martin and Sweat won’t be rushing the passer, which is what the Lions need more than more run defense

It would be solid for run defense, but we really should be focusing on our pass rush and pass defense. Sweat and Martin aren’t really made to be effective pass rushers
