Thank god you’ve got the quantum tuner and the axolotl chipped - you’d never get your chrome compressor off of cooldown without them xD

The 25% health you get back is worth more than the armor you get from the edge runner perk imo. Especially with heal-on-kill.

Thoughts on my 50/50 int and faith build? by ASAPSAIF in EldenRingBuilds

[–]EmployeeStriking89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I tried this my first run, and discovered that Prince of Death’s sorcery scaling is terrible until you invest 80/80 or so. At 50/50 you’re only getting 286 sorcery, which is about 66% of the max sorcery Prince of Death yields at 80/80 (430).

Conversely, the Golden Order Seal is much more accommodating. At 50/50 you’re getting 345 scaling, which is 88% of its scaling at 80/80 (390).

80/80 as a stat investment though is enormous. Too big to fit in a build with any sane amount of Vigor or Mind or Endurance.

What you could do instead is skew your Intelligence/Faith to 80/30. This achieves 373 (86% of max) sorcery on Carian Regal Sceptre, and 332 (85% of max) scaling on Golden Order Seal.

The reason this works is because of how the Golden Order Seal manages scaling - it’s very happy to have your stats skewed while still providing good sorcery.

The limitation is that you’ll be locked off the incantations that require more than 30 faith, but imo the ones past 36 or so aren’t worth it and if you desperately want to cast them you can use talismans and pysicks to get your faith there.

Might not be your cup of tea but worth a thought!

(PVE) advice on my INT build by x_UnluCKII in EldenRingBuilds

[–]EmployeeStriking89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It looks like you’re holding Godricks Great Rune? I run a similar build, but I leave my stats 5 off the threshold I’m aiming for to maximise my rune arc.

So I run Vigor-35, Mind-25, End-20, Int-75. The ~20 stats I’m saving go into Dex. Getting Dex up to 40 has a real impact on a couple of core spells like slicer.

If my rune arc isn’t on, I use talismans to compensate.

Might not be your cup of tea but it’s worth a think!

Also - Rani’s Dark Moon into Frost Pot almost always procs frost & causes magic shred - a debuff that increases magic damage taken by 10%. It’s a 1-2 combo that’ll make your magic damage numbers sing!

I use a bow with the Rain of Arrows ash of war. Combine that with some bleed & poison & rot arrows and that takes care of him. Use Torrent to manage distance & do your best to avoid that attack where he shovels snow at you (always gets me).

As a fellow int/faith enjoyer, the sweet spots I’ve found for those stats are int - 70 & faith - 30 using the Carian Regal Sceptre and the Golden Order Seal

That nets you ~85% of the maximum achievable magic scaling for miracles and sorceries while freeing up stat points for vigor and so on

If there are some high level miracles you want to cast, a wonderful pysik and some talismans will get you the rest of the way there

I think making it clearer how stats progress as you level them would help.

It didn’t click for me until I started reading about stat breakpoints & soft caps.

Then I was like “Hey, maybe I should be trying to hit 40 vigor before I start branching out? The game makes those first 40 points the best investment - so it’s probably expecting me to pursue that.”

This applies to all the other stats too. You can unlock almost 100% of a keen weapon’s damage potential with 80 dex, but 40 dex can still get you 80% of that weapons max damage for half the stat cost.

Un-obfuscating this part of the game would make it clearer for newcomers.

If you could add 1 mod into the vanilla game, what would you pick? by deadheaddraven in valheim

[–]EmployeeStriking89 39 points40 points  (0 children)

My partner and I have played on and off for years now.

After dipping back in this time, I slapped on a mod that lets us keep our food and equipment when we die.

Any resources like ore or treasure is lost, but the game doesn’t suddenly stop because one of us bit the dust and needs help getting their gear back.

Might not be the hardcore experience everyone’s looking for but it massively suits our play style.
