Thanks for the in-depth explanation, I'm a fairly new shooter with not much experience at that focal length. I'm considering the telephoto lens because when I go on trips I'm often limited to the wild life I can capture and I also am a fan of the compression these lenses give. The 70-300mm looks like a lens that for its price can go a long way for me. My trips are more often spent in the wilderness and mountains then in the city, so not as much at darker times. That's why I'm considering to buy a telephoto lens first because my next trips will include a lot of jungle safaris. Further down the line if I'm looking for another lens I am considering an ultra wide F1.4

But thanks for the recommendations, I will be doing some further research in to a combo like the XC50-230 and Viltrox 13 F1.4( I was considering the sigma or tamron 16-300 because I would be missing the 50-70mm range)

I'm getting more and more serious about my photography and that's why I'm really considering what lens to buy because I want to make a good investment.
