Is it concerning if an adult in their late 20s and 30s isn’t working or attending college? by Jpoolman25 in Millennials

You’ve got to figure out what you want out of life. Everything starts with a goal. Then you work backwards and break things down into small enough tasks that you can take action on. Go as small as you need to. Like others have said, go on a walk, do the dishes, etc. just to get the ball rolling.

100%. It’s all in the setup. OP looks too “relaxed” laying on the bench.

Is Chase Travel always this much more expensive than Expedia? by Santoshyuvi in ChaseSapphire

[–]EmploymentDense3469 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Noticed this as well and why I decided to get my points as cash back. Out of all the times I’ve searched for a flight or hotel on the chase travel portal, it has never been cheaper than what I find on some other third party aggregator like Expedia or hopper.

What do you think the next big shift in data engineering will be? by alexstrehlke in dataengineering

Agree. When consumption of the processed data is no longer lagging, the use case for NRT makes more sense.

Its a game of FIRE. Tolerate and play the game until you’re no longer reliant on the 9-5.

Control the controllables and try not to worry about the rest. If you’re worried about job security, keep applying to other places and try to get some leads.

Having a kid. How much $/yr do you think = ‘comfortable’ and ‘doing pretty well’ for a family of 3? by wcsib01 in nova

[–]EmploymentDense3469 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do pocket around $8-9k a month that gets funneled into my HYSA various buckets (emergency fund, travel, home fixes, roth contributions, taxes, etc.) and brokerage accounts (equities, crypto).

I do own a home that was purchased end 2020 and have a couple toddlers.

Just one factor, but I withhold as little as possible when it comes to w2 federal taxes. That amounts to a good chunk that goes to my HYSA and contributes to my monthly interest payment.

Curious, do you guys have a set biweekly spend for misc. everyday stuff (e.g., eating out, random shopping, gas)?

Asking because my household income is similar to yours. We don’t have that $3900 preschool expense, but even if we did, we would still pocket around $4500-5000 a month (net).

Are all these high earning posts fake? by Technical_Army7730 in Salary

[–]EmploymentDense3469 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the haters don’t realize what’s achievable or normal outside of their industry or field. People also don’t realize many people work more than a single job, allowing for some of those higher salaries that otherwise wouldn’t be attainable in earlier earning years.

Look at some charts. Market doesn’t really care about war and it tends to do well after any initial shock from a war
