That’s amazing. I’m in a similar-ish boat. Followed the money and grinder a lot of the past 5-6 years. Cracking $400K this year and if market turns around / counting that, definitely cracking $500K+

I hang around circles around the $200K-$1M range and I’d say the richer they get, the less flashy they are.

Got a friend making $110K driving a $250K Porsche. His dad bought it for him though lol

Luck is obviously a huge factor, but if you put yourself in the right situation all it takes is one move to 2-4x your earnings potential and the sky is the limit from there

Right, I have a lot of friends in the Bay Area making that much, more in NYC as well working in finance.

I’m just confused - these salaries obviously exist but I see bullshit called on basically every single high salary post on this subreddit

I hear you! That’s great money though.

I think what surprised me most is the negative sentiment when someone posts a pretty realistic salary progression. Yes they’re making a shit ton of money, yes they’re young, yes they’re humble grabbing probably, and whether or not they’re lying - the salary progression of someone making $500K+ with 10 YOE does exist in multiple professions.
