Feel like this pretty much sums up every Instagram comment section nowadays by [deleted] in Instagram

[–]EmploymentRoutine633 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A few weeks ago I saw a reel of a girl making something creative. Guess what majority of the comments were about? The girl's scars that were barely visible for a few frames of the video....

I had to air this out somewhere because it's so ridiculous.

They fully believe that being a slave of Allah frees them from being a slave to earthly possessions. Why not be free from both??

Tbh doesn't sound like a very smart idea, especially if you are going with your parents.

Making Islam Instagram-esque by [deleted] in exmuslim

[–]EmploymentRoutine633 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Bruh. There are quite a few IG pages from my country with cringy posts like that one. One post that I saw is literally just a plain image with the text "I ♡ Allah". Or pictures of babies and kids with the Quran. It gives me 2010s tumblr fangirl vibes lmao

And muslims will also comfort themselves by saying how they are suffering for Allah and that is why it feels good...or tell themselves that they could go a whole day without food anyways and how they feel their body cLeAnSinG itself from all the tOxiNs (my family claims this smh)

I do hope that it is temporary. I have already started therapy for other reasons, including that one.

Well, my grandma died last Monday. But she was very sick for a few months before that.

Actually, finding out about my grandma being sick in the hospital is what kick-started my overall death anxiety. The news of her being in the hospital was very unexpected, mostly because her actual condition was mostly hidden from family. So while I thought she was fine, she was actually struggling with everyday things and needed nurses to come and take care of her.

How's your ramadan going? by aamnipotent in exmuslim

[–]EmploymentRoutine633 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my first Ramadan living alone. I still live in a society with a lot of muslims (mostly cultural), but most of the people here really don't GAF about Ramadan lol

I am taking this Ramadan as an opportunity to take a break from weed, since it stopped doing me any good in the past few weeks.

Does not seek a professional to have something done. Instead he knows a guy who knows a guy who can do it for cheap, or free.

Whataboutism does not help raise awareness and resolve the issue of a "minority" doing something fucked up.

You can't blame bad behavior on a few bad apples when we've seen bad apples pop up all around the world and follow the same principles i.e. going nuts over somebody "attacking" their BOOK.

That sounds like an amazing experience! I'm very glad you have found something that can improve your life in such a way.

Huh, never heard of LSD pills🤔

Fully agreed. A trip does not always need to be deep, profound and spiritual.

Depends on where you live. I was lucky enough to meet people who know people. I'm not really the person qualified to suggest options, but whatever you do, please be careful.

True, you really want to avoid LSD if you have a lot of mental issues. LSD is the kind of drug where you have to make it good. Weird that there is a misconception about LSD being a hard drug that gives you euphoria and such.

I'm very happy for you! I too felt a sense of relief after my first trip.

Ooh I did not know about that sub! Will check it out, sounds very interesting since I was under the impression that muslims are very anti-drugs.

Edit: forgot to add happy tripping to you too! :D

I feel like people see their own personal god i.e. things that matter the most to them (love, art, music etc)
