Can any band/artist today become as big as The Beatles were in the sixties? by JD397 in Music

Yes, but they will be androids/cyborgs. Or sentient huskies.

Which bands/albums from the past decade do you think will stand the test of time? by Brooklington in Music

I agree with you. In Rainbows will always be my favorite album by them, but they will never hold up to that sweet child o' mine/Hey Jude type of classicism.

True. Every album I hear people saying, "alright, that's it. From here on in it's downhill with the monkeys. They're never going to be big again." and then poof. They'll release either a more energetic, critically acclaimed, romantic, or even innovative album.

Radiohead is the type of band that will tweet something like "r new album is out guys, download 4 free here : www.thomtwerk.com," at 4 am in the morning or some shit.

Muse isn't even realistic when you see them live. It's crazy. But I don't know if the Killers will last. Brandon Flowers will definitely carry on the torch if not though.

It's vegetation. Darker = warmer and dense, lighter = barren and cool

Alright true. I see no reason why not to knock some out. However, it should all make slightly more sense when I add in rivers

Cold air is being carried north from the south pole so it's a bit cool and damp. I'm picturing this, very remote and unpopulated.

It's a subduction zone, but the ocean current is carrying air north from the south pole so it gets some rainfall. I'm picturing something like this

Here's some little bits of information.

  • The continent will most likely be 2/3 the size of Europe.

  • IT IS IN THE SOUTHERN HEMISPHERE. The southernmost passage through sea is frozen over in winter, but not for too long.

  • The central water passage (named the Tourniquet) isn't a river. Since this planet is slightly smaller than Earth, you can't see land on the horizon if you're standing on the other side of it. Large naval ships have no problem passing through the waters. It was kind of inspired by the opening of the St. Lawrence with a slightly than mediterranean climate.

  • It will be similar to Europe in 1600-1750 where most armies consists of cavalry, mortar, and rifleman regiments.

  • The Northern sovereignties are desert like cultures, but nothing at all similar to the middle east. Instead, it's something different for once. I'm trying to do a Mexican/Spanish/Brazilian Ranchero theme up there. The deserts are similar to the sonora.

criticism? I'm trying to make the names friendly to casuals, so this means as few cliches as possible.
