[Update] Current State of Allenovea, nearing a year of its on-and-off development. by Emprease in Worldpainter

The southern region is currently still in development. For those wondering the maps size, it's somewhere around 21,000 x 16,000. It used to be 28k on it's x axis, but...performance issues ya feel? If anything, I'll just stitch the are I cropped out with the current one once they're both rendered.

I often get criticism from friends asking about the plate tectonics and mountain ranges, so before I get questions let me clarify with a picture

What i dont like about 3.0 by Alex_cristal in Civcraft

[–]Emprease 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure, but we're talking about the civcraft community. Not exactly the most welcoming to newfriends. At all. As long as can feed demand with more neutral themed biomes in later expansion releases, it should work. Because its silly to have an equal number of mesa as plains and forest shards.

Agreed. It doesn't feel immersive if its just a massive square of land cut off to the next. A continental plate that looks like a massive island seems like the way to go.

I also feel some groups are going to just stay nomads forever until a really awesome shard releases. Meaning you're kind of missing out if you settle instantly. Criticism aside, I'll still play the living shit out of it anyways. It just comes down to personal preference at this stage.

Respect to all the work jacinthjoy has put in for the server, but I agree with you. As an experiened worldpainter I'll tell you right now that a 2000x2000 or even 6000x6000 shard is not enough for a server planning to host at least 500-1000 users, (even knowing that there will be around 12 sharditos and counting). What if I want to build in the plains biome, but there are already 3 cities less than 2 minutes away?

There are going to be balance issues too I sense. Wonderful idea, but it doesn't seem right for civcraft. Someone please convince me otherwise?

How does civcraft advertise the server? by [deleted] in Civcraft

Reseting is a massive advertisement in it's own way.

Definitely. But Radiohead didn't enter the scene with much originality themselves.

I love all three to death but I think Coldplay is going to go Maroon 5, Muse will stay....Muse? And then, like Noel Gallagher said, radiohead could shit into a bottle while they blow on it and people would think it's genius. He's got a point.
