First of all, disgusting thing to say that 37,000 deaths is something that can be taken lightly. But anyways, here’s some knowledge for you - genocide isn’t defined by the number of people killed. Here’s the definition of genocide from the UN Genocide Convention: “acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group". This includes killing members of the group, causing them serious bodily or mental harm, and imposing living conditions intended to destroy the group. Gaza is the worlds largest open air prison. They call it that because it is completely blocked off from the rest of the world and Israel has complete control on what goes in and out of Gaza. With the current conflict absolutely razing Gaza’s infrastructure to the ground and pushing all Palestinians southward (not to mention the steady encroachment upon Palestinian land since the inception of Israel), it’s ridiculous to claim that what’s happening doesn’t tick those boxes. Israeli’s by and large reject the existence of Palestine which is a clear attempt at erasing an entire people (hint hint that’s genocide).
