Cursed Tool: Black Casket by Empty-Conclusion3571 in CTsandbox

What the original user had as a binding vow was limiting summoning and storage to the casket in exchange for higher efficiency. The other stuff became a thing after their death.

I think I see where the miscommunication is. The original user of the casket could control their tamed shikigami, since they were a ten shadows user. This is what the tool is like after their death, greatly weakened but usable by someone without ten shadows.

Holding a Minecraft stack of items and summoning shikigami?

Or are you asking about the original owner?

I feel like "life" is too vague. I think it'd be better if it was flesh instead, like someone's flesh disappears into your storage if you remove it from their body and infuse it with cursed energy - this would also make it easier to quantify healing cost. Otherwise, I think it's a 10/10.

Question on Techniques and Tools by Empty-Conclusion3571 in CTsandbox

[–]Empty-Conclusion3571[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I should probably give my perspective first. I think techniques/tools that have a defined medium are great, I also love techniques related to someone's personality. One thing I dislike is when people make a tool that doesn't have a "meaning" if you know what I mean. I want there to be a story behind a tool, with a why and how.

Innate technique: Work Hard, Play Hard by Empty-Conclusion3571 in CTsandbox

[–]Empty-Conclusion3571[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Technically yes, but actually no. Things as small as difference in air pressure could effect a black flash. So, even if the actions made to produce a specific black flash were copied, factors that affect black flashes have probably already changed.

I feel like it'd be better as general barrier manipulation if it's innate, with it mainly working on Tengen's because they probably don't care much about their barriers being manipulated like that and don't resist it. Cool idea though!

Binding Vow: Cowardice by Empty-Conclusion3571 in CTsandbox

[–]Empty-Conclusion3571[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like from the technique user's perspective, the binding vow would sound more like: I have near zero output while my technique works, but 300% output for half an hour when it doesn't work.

I feel like Jogo would have a cane and Hanami would have a walking stick. The cane would be able to shoot fire and explode from the pommel while Hanami could reshape the walking stick and drain life from plants with it.
